Sorry about the boldness... It messed UP!!! Well... it's Sonic related, but, hey, it's also animal related, so it's allowed here. I was wondering if you guys could read and rate it for me, cause I wanna know how I'm doing so far.
Chapter ONE: Mystery at the ParkIt was a peaceful day in the park. The sun was shining, and the birds were singing. It couldnt be better for this young, healthy, strong hedgehog. His quills slightly moved in the wind, buffeted by its strength. He sat at the table, and waited for his friend to show up. This young hedgehogs name is Zurge Izumiki. He tries to keep it simple, only telling other people that his name is Zurge. His fur color is a charcoal grey, and his eyes are obsidian black. He shifted his eyes around, looking searching for his friend, only in vain. He stood up, stretched, and ran off. His purple shoes, and his body, became a long, winding blur in the park. Zurge searched more, for his dear friend. He realized that when he couldnt find his friend, that he was at the wrong park! Zurge went to the northern park, but he promised to meet his companion in the southern park.He quickly dashed off, in a hurry to get to the southern park, which was called Dashway Park. It was named in honor of this hero, this grey hedgehog, Zurge. He only forgot because he was nearer to the northern park, Flare of Summer Park. This park, hereminisced, was in honor of Zurges Chao, who had given his life to protect the people in the park, and that memory grew faint in Zurges memory- only the death of his closest, most invaluable friend was still bright. He shoved the memories into the back of his mind as he made it to Dashway Park.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At the southern park, a fox lay there, under the cool shade of an overhanging willow tree. She brushed her hair out of the way with her hand, constantly on the lookout for the energy-filled hedgehog that had always brightened her life. This foxs name is Sli Hirushi, but she never minds it if others just call her Sli. Her pelt is orange, with a white breast, and her hair is a water blue color. Her eyes are red, and as these orbs shifted, searching for Zurge, she slightly dozed, aware of the fact that Zurge was clumsy enough to be this late. She sighed, and drifted into a deeper stage of sleep, and when she became conscious again, she felt something prodding at her side. Her eyes became wide, open with shock that someone would wake her. Her eyes half closed again when she realized it was Zurge, and he seemed as impatient as hed always been.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Her purple fur ruffled against the breeze, being blown in the wrong direction. She looked up towards the sky, wondering how long it would be until he came back, how long until he relived her of these duties She hated sitting around, just guarding the Master Chaos Emerald. She longed for action, for a fight, for something, other than this. She calls herself Kin the Echidna, but her name was Naimi at her birth. She hated and detested her old name so much; she refused to use it anymore. She had no kin, no siblings, so she put her wish as her name. She wanted kin, to have a little brother or sister to look after, to play with. As a result, her name became Kin. She glanced back at the Emerald, just sitting there, making this island float in midair. The sun had set a few hours ago, but it was sunset where Zurge and Sli were. She reminisced about how goofy Zurge always was, and how many times Sli proved both Zurge and herself wrong. She also thought of how much her two team-mates seemed to be attracted to each other. She had no one, but at least her friends were happy.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Hey, wake up. We dont have all night. The Full Moon Truce only lasts from 11:00 pm to 1:00 am. Its not that long. Zurge stated to Sli, and she sat up stubbornly. He was impatient now, as the sun was setting, and they still had to prepare for the Full Moon Truce. He stood up, and he rubbed his quills down with his hands. She stood up, also, and ruffled her hair back to normal. It had probably clung to her head as she slept, and she obiously hated that. He walked out from under the tree, only to see the first stars in the sky. Something disturbed a nearby bush. He took a swift glance, only to see a black echidna looming there. Who are you, and what are you doing here? Zurge questioned the strange echidna.I am Scar. I come to you in peace, but if its a fight you want, its a fight youll definitely get! the midnight-black echidna spoke.Zurge took this under consideration for a moment. He looked at Sli, who seemed to be panicing a bit because of the strange being that had shown himself to both of them. Its okay, Sli, he gestured at the echidna, to gain its attention, Alright, so you say you come in peace. What do you want?
Me..? I dont want anything. It is the will of the Moon that I speak with you. I am the shadow of the Moon, looming over the darker areas of this planet. The Moon has seen the future. A prophecy Scar explained.Zurge had to think some before he got Scars point. So what youre saying is that youre the Moons shadow, and you come on the night of the Full Moon Truce to speak to me? Also, what kind of prophecy is- he was cut off by Scar, who quickly slammed Zurge to the ground, and whispered in his ear, Zurge, DO NOT speak of the truce in front of the girl. Or the prophecy.Zurge nodded, and squirmed free of the echdinas grasp with Slis help, wondering how Scar knew his name. He brushed himself off, and used his secret hand sign language, telling the echidna to meet him at the center of the city, which was where the Full Moon Truce was held, hoping that Scar could read what he was saying. The echidna nodded, the silently walked away, not looking back. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Chapter TWO: The Meeting Zurge knew well that he would have to meet the Echidna for the answers to many questions, but he wasnt sure what the mysterious creature wanted from him. The thought of the meeting under the Full Moon Truce haunted him, and the time Scar should show up was mere minutes away. He had left Sli sleeping under the same willow tree he met Scar near. He looked up and opened his eyes, just in time to see a light, possibly Chaos Control, and the dark Echidna suddenly appearing. That was Chaos Control, Zurge thought. But how did he know it? Or was he born with it, as Shadow the Hedgehog, from 500 years ago, had been? Zurge crossed his arms as the Echidna walked up to him, stopping about 5 feet from him, compared to the approximate 10 feet away that he had appeared. Well Time to explain yourself, Scar, Zurge deepened his tone of voice on Scar, making his demand seem more of a threat. The Echidna motioned for Zurge to come closer, with a brief nod and a hand motion. Zurge carefully stepped closer, aware that Scar had his back hand balled into a fist, as if he was going to harm him. Zurge also kept a weary eye for all of the other Species representitives. He never knew what they might try to pull.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sli slept soundly, unaware of Zurges meeting with Scar. Her surroundings seemed quite light, too light to be natural. She was in a dream, and she didnt know where she was. Sli could see Zurge, with many spikes, many sharp edges, growing out of his body. His pelt wasnt the soft grey anymore, but a dark, shadow-like grey. It was much darker than normal, she noticed, and his eyes, black piercing orbs tainted with hatred. In the dream she tried to scream, but only in vain. Her voice wouldnt come to her; it had left, just like she felt all of her friends had. She felt like a small, unearthly, tiny being who was looked down on as an annoyance, as something that always needed protection, as a mere distraction. Her heart jerked at the sight of her friend, looking so threatening that she wanted to run up to him and help him out of his struggle. She tried, but she couldnt move, as well as speak. She was stuck, as if tied to a wall with a muzzle holding her mouth shut. The next thing she knew, her eyes sprung open with alarm, her heart racing, her breath coming and going faster than usual. She found herself in the same nest she had fallen asleep in. What was that? Was that really Zurge? And What is he doing with Scar, Sli thought silently. She had to find Zurge to make sure he was okay. So, she stood up, stretched, and ran off in a random direction, keeping a good lookout for her friend, for her companion. To her, he was more than a friend, but maybe his feelings were different, maybe she was only a friend to him, and nothing more. She felt her spirits shrink, to as small as they had felt in the dream, and smaller still. She didnt want to see Zurge like that if she found him, she didnt want to see him suffering like that, not as bad as she had seem him suffering in the dream. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Zurge glanced at the black echidna again, then away, hoping that Sli would come. He wanted to Full Moon Truce to end, even though he was surrounded by the other chosen ones, from the other Species. He was the chosen Hedgehog, and he didnt want to be, because that put heavy responsibility on his shoulders. He just wanted to get this Prophecy out of the way and done, so he could go back and curl up with Sli. He missed her already, and wanted to be with her, keeping her warm from the cold. He wanted to feel her hair limply tickle his arm, to feel her soft pelt brush against his, to feel her warm breath softly hit his neck. Zurge hated being where he was, alone, it seemed, in the dark. He felt a tingling inside of himself, as if the demon inside of him was clawing at his insides, trying to come free, trying to sever the bonds it held with his body. He looked at the seal on his arm, which looked like a rope twisting, then dividing in half, and then twisting the opposite direction, keeping the large beast within the confines of a prison in his mind. He put that out of his mind, and pushed away the feelings. Well First question, he said calmly to Scar, Why are you here? I want the truth. The Echidna growled, I am not here only to speak to you. I am here to speak with all of the Species, as representitive of the Moon. His words were firm and piercing, as if many blades were being dug into his skin, which crawled at the thought. Zurge stayed silent, holding all of the questions he would present until further notice. Scar explained why he was walking the Earth, and why all of the Species were involved. He also told a story, a simple myth, Scar called it. He had heard this myth many times before, but was starting to think of it as true information. The story Scar told was of this time, where there would be the first Full Moon Truce, where a Moon God would reveal himself and help the animals through a future difficulty. Zurge realized that this was the first Full Moon Truce, and that Scar must be this Moon God. But why hadnt Scar simply said he was a God, instead of a mere representitive? It confused Zurge so much, many more questions spun in his head. He tried to concentrate, also wishing that Sli were the Fox Species representitive, and Kin as the Echidna Species repesentitive, so he could talk to them about Scar. He wanted to take comfort in his friends, but he found it too hard to quit thinking about them, and focus on this Full Moon Truce, and the mysterious Prophecy.
