Ebonycloud's world fell in to darkness. He could no longer hear or see anything and yet his lips still moved. His heart slow to a dangerous point and a dark abyss crashed over him. His mind floated in nothingness.

Wolfstar gently put Mothpaw down and raced over to Ebonylcoud. "Wake up! Don't leave me Ebonycloud! I need you! We need you! The whole clan needs you!" He yowled, shaking Ebonycloud, trying to wake him. He heard Ebonycloud's dangerously soft pulse. "Ebonycloud!"

Ebonycloud's mind floated in a cold abyss. He shivered all over and the only thing he heard was the sound of his ragged breathing. He felt his lips moving but no noise came out. His body was so cold. He felt so numb. His paws burned like liquid fire, but he couldn't move. Nothing about this nightmare was right. He wanted to scream at the shear burning pain in his legs but he felt to cold to do so. He felt as if his world was upside down, but still only one image came to mind. Mothpaw's cute smile. He drove him onward. He had to see that smile at least once more before he gave in to the pain

Fawnpaw instantly woke up at the news that her friend had returned. She consulted StarClan and all they had to say was "It will be the blizzards nothingness that tortures them. Why'd they have to make things so complicated! She thought it meant that ebonycloud and mothpaw will either become blin or deaf, or maybe they would soon feel nothing, which would tourture them... She didn't know what to think, but she knew she had to help her friend and Ebonycloud!

Blackheart wrapped himself tighter around Ebonycloud, trying to help his body heat warm his son. If his blood rushed to fast to his heart, it could fail.

Ebonycloud felt nothing. His mind was numb. Only his lips moved. Suddenly images of the best moments in his life raced through his mind. The time he was made an apprenitice. The moment he had become a warrior. The day he had recieved his first apprenitce. That memory made him smile widly. And finally the day he had found his father. He chuckled to himself at how foolish he had been by taking his apprentice to the summit on one of the coldest nights of his life.
