Here's the story behind this poem:
On Friday, my science teacher said to get into groups of four, then said that our group was getting frogs and we had to name them and observe them. So we decided on the name Puddle, and I was so excited to get a frog. The people in my group were less excited, and one asked, "Why are you so excited?"
"Because we're getting a frog!" I replied happily. They all looked at me strangely, which I didn't understand. Then we got our frog in a sort of tin tray. He was in a bit of an odd position, and his eyes looked funny, but since he wasn't moving, I thought he was just sleeping.
"How do we observe Puddle if he's sleeping?" I asked, confused.
"Puddle's dead," one of the people in my group said flatly.
"What do you mean?" I asked, sad and confused. "Then we should tell our teacher and get another frog."
"We can't get another frog, this is the one we have, they're all dead," she replied.
"Yeah, we're going to dissect it Monday," another added.
I was scared, and sad at this. Then when we had to observe it(which turned out observing it was taking out its toungue, touching its teeth, which all involve opening the jaw. Puddle's jaw wouldn't open, so we had to BREAK the jaw), I started crying. When I finally got out class, I went with my group and sat down and started hysterically crying. I was so upset, and sad. I did some research, then found out that billions of frogs a year are killed. They have Froggy Mills, like puppy mills, but these frogs are bred just to be killed for Science. And they're also taken from the wild, from pet stores, and things like that. I don't know what I'm going to do tomorrow, when we have the actual dissection.

disecting frogs is just wrong to me & i read somewhere that if they don't have frogs they disect cats?! disbelief

acutally you have to disect something. would you care if a human is disected?

Well actually my science teacher said they do dissect human, but humans that already are dead. Like after biopsy sometimes human bodies are dissected. However, frogs are killed, they dont wait until theyre dead, they kill them with chemicals. It's horrible. Ours was in an odd position, sort of like he was landing from a jump. His front arms are in sitting position while his back are stretched out, so when we had to pin him down today, he wouldn't lay down. It was so sad. I got in trouble because I was crying while someone on my team cut open the frog, because I wasn't cutting him open, too, becuase I couldnt take it, every time I picked up the scissors my hand shook and I'd just start crying again. I hate dissections.

Apparently they disect unborn rats, unborn pigs, and frogs. I read about it somewhere... It's only if the don't have frogs, though. I almost started crying when I even thought about it. So, I'm not looking forwards to the year I must do it.

See see! I told you nobody cares about a human! plus the only way to know what is inside a frog is to disect it. they have to use them alive cuz they decay faster.
