Jayden bounded up to Brooke's side as they entered the class. "Hey, for future reference...it's a little twist, and then a flick," he murmured, referring to the way she should move her wand to perform the Lumos spell. He grinned crookedly at her and sauntered to a seat in the class. Jay sat down at a table by himself, hoping his friends would follow, but not necessarily caring if they didn't. He wasn't afraid of being a "loner." He could throw the Slytherins' taunts right back at them if they dared to tease him about sitting alone.
Reggie hurried after Jayden and sat down next to him. With a smile he rested his head against his arms that were crossed lazily on th edest in front of him. He gave a short yawn and tried to not let his eyes close. Yet still he let his eyes shut lightly and waited for the teacher to walk in. Reggie relaxed slightly and smiled largly again. He didnt know what kind of class this was and he wasnt quite looking forward to it.
Taylor got up and smiled at Lucifer. "I can't tell them... the teachers won't understand!" she explained. Sighing, she trailed after her friends to the Defence of the Dark Arts room. She got to Jayden's side and sat down next to him. "Hey..." she said, faking a smile. "I wonder what teacher we'll get.." she said half to herself. One part of Taylor's body was in the room, the other was with Ben.. or whoever got injured in the Forbidden Forest; Taylor almost 100% sure it was Ben. Her blonde hair got in her way of seeing, and for once, she didn't bother to push it away.
Ooc: Um okay...I hope no one minds if I start the class.
Ic: Jayden's blue eyes flickered up from the table as a fairly short old woman entered the classroom. She had wispy, silver hair and a bit of a hunch in her back. She wore thin wire glasses, behind which were bright green eyes, full of kindness and a sort of childlike curiosity. She was slightly chubby, but barely. "Welcome to your first Defense Against the Dark Arts class!" she said in a slightly croaky voice; though it was scratchy, it was still bright and cheery. "My name is Professor Kindlebottom. I will introduce you to the Dark Arts and begin your life-long training of how to resist curses, counter-attack harmful spells, and call up your common sense even in the tense and chaotic scene of a battle." The students somewhat cringed as one at what she described, even though Professor Kindlebottom's voice was still cheerful and welcoming. "Brilliant!" Jayden hissed jubilantly through his teeth. He could already tell this would be his favorite class.
ooc: Thanks, Flight. I'm not the only one who can start classes, end classes, or say what's happening in that class.
ic: Professor Kindlebottom told them that on Wednesday, they'd be facing a real Boggart. She wanted to get it angry so it'd be more fun to work with. For that day, they'd stick strictly to their textbooks.
Brooke tried her best to pay attention as Professor Kindlebottom scratched information about Boggarts on the chalkboard, but her mind kept skipping ahead. What was her worst fear? Her stomache dropped not from nerves, but from excitement. She couldn't wait to do some hands-on stuff!

"Wicked," Jayden exclaimed quietly. He quickly pulled out a piece of parchment and began scribbling down what Professor Kindlebottom was writing.
"This is my favorite class already," Jayden murmured as he wrote rapidly. He paused for a moment. What was his worst fear? He tapped his inked quill against his chin a few times, then realized that he had just put three dots of ink on his skin. "Wow, fabulous," he muttered, licking his finger and then rubbing the ink. He wasn't sure if it came off, but he merely continued copying the board.
Taylor smiled. She loved the class already, even though it just started for a few minutes. She picked up her feather quill and thought about her worst fear. It instantly popped into her mind. "Wasps," she said. "Definatly wasps." She jotted it down and looked at their old Professor Kindlebottom. She was writing someone down on the board, so Taylor copied it. She smiled, happy to know her favorite class.
Brooke raised her hand, confused on how to pronounce the spell to defeat a Boggart. "Yes, miss Janelle?" Professor Kindlebottom called on her.
"Yes, how do you pronounce that?" Brooke asked, but as she brought her hand down, the diamond in her ring caught the light. It had been a present from her Grandfather when she was little, but he died shortly after her tenth birthday. The light flickered in the Professor's eye and she paused a moment as if she was stuck in time. She blinked slowly, then said, "Uhm, yes, well then. Boggarts don't have a distinc-" She went on, ignoring Brooke. Brooke sat there, a questioning look on her face. Why did the teacher just... Ignore her?

Jayden raised one eyebrow, half in suspicion and half in annoyance. "Professor?" he called, thrusting his hand in the air. The woman looked at him, her eyes widened just slightly. "What is it, Mr. Channing?" she asked slowly.
"Well, Professor...Erm, not to be rude, but Brooke asked you a question," Jayden pointed out. "And I'm wondering how to pronounce the spell, too. Could you please clarify it for us?" Jayden was intent on figuring this woman out.
Reggie sat back slightly and looked between the professer, Brooke and Jayden. He shot a curious glance to Taylor and Lucifer. As exciting as this class seemed, Reggie was still afriad of invountary man slaughter. What if he cast the spell and wound up oblitering someone in the process. That thought gave him a giggle. An image of just a pair of shoes with teh socks hangin down and black ashes staining it slightly. He covered his mouth trying to stiffle his laughter only to get a few odd glances his way. He tried not to continue but still felt the giggles coming.
