Taylor smiled. "Yeah.. they love each other." She looked at Maddix. "Um... sure, you could join us. I was kinda asking him if we should ask them to stop the war." Taylor sniffled at the word, 'war'. "Not that you have to do it if you don't want to... You can do whatever you want." She kinda shrugged and stared into the sky. The wind blew, and beyond the distance, she could hear guns and see the American flags. Taylor sighed. "Maddix.." she whispered. She rubbed his shoulder. "I'm cold. I didn't bring a jacket.."

Maddix had on a his school uniform. He took off his blazer and put it around her. He didn't like Alex or the way Taylor looked at him. Once he had put the blazer around her he pulled her closer to him before he could stop himself. Maddix looked at Lyla to keep from glarring at Alex. He didn't even know the guy but he just didn't like him that much. He was...jealous but he would probably never admit it to anyone.

Lyla padded over to Alex and purred at him.

Maddix tensed wanting to snatch Lyla up and shake her, but he would never shake Lyla.

"I'll come," he said. "The two of you might need some help, in case you run into trouble on the way. Alex blinked as Maddix territorially pulled Taylor closer to him. Crystalline green eyes slightly wide, the Japanese youth shrugged slightly, adding hastily, "Not that I'm saying that you couldn't handle it, but the more the merrier, right?" He averted his gaze, and it wasn't long before Alex was captivated by the calico kitten.

"D' aww, aren't you a cutie?" he whispered, sounding more like a girl as he breathed compliments at the adorable kitten, resisting the urge to hug the kitty to death. As he held a finger out to Lyla, he felt a moment of resentment that the only mementos of his parents were the far from cute-and-cuddly items in the pack on his back.

No, I probably shouldn't think like that, thought Alex to himself as he watched the cat. It's better than having nothing at all.

Lyla purred even more and licked his finger then out of now where she jumped up onto Alex. She put her front paws on his stomache and the back ones on his leg. She wasn't very big so she could only reach the upper part of his stomache.

Maddix didn't reply he looked down at his lap. He kinda felt bad about acting like that. He knew that Alex wasn't meaning to he just was. He more than likely came off as a creepy over protective jerk.

Alex almost giggled as the kitten plopped her paws on his stomach, but it came out as a strangled snort; he didn't really like people (or anything, for that matter) touching his belly, but since it was a kitty....

He continued to pet Lyla absently, eyes riveted on the baby cat. "I didn't catch her name..." he said softly to Maddix, glancing up. "What do you call her?"

"Her name is Lyla Rose"he said. When he said Lyla Rose the kitten turned her head. He smiled at her and she mewed softly. She pranced over to him and sat down looking up. "It's okay Lyla go play"he said scratching her behind her ear and stroaking her for a moment. She licked him then prance back to Alex and jumped up this time falling between his legs. She let a out a surprised mew that would have been translated to 'whoa what the heck' if she had been human.

Taylor smiled at Lyla. "Silly kitty.." she murmured. Taylor slipped her arm behind Maddix's shoulder, making her kinda hug him. "Go play with Shadow, Lila," Taylor said again. She sighed. "Um.. so Alex... do you like.. have anything left from your family?" Taylor asked awkwardly. "Maddix's is Lyla and mine is Shadow.. that wiener dog." She smiled. "What's yours... if you have any.. that is,"

Taylor whispered into Maddix's ear, "That Alex is pretty hot..." She giggled. "I mean.. his Japenese body, the black hair, and beautiful green eyes, unusual, but awesome." Looking at Alex, she asked him, "Um.. sorry if i'm piling you with questions but why do you have GREEN eyes when you're Japenese?"

Maddix was starting to relax. He settled into Taylor's arms and had a smile on his face but all that was gone when she started whispering to him. He tensed again and let his arm fall from around her. He was hurt slightly by the fact she was looking at some guy let alone talking about his hotness but he didn't know why. he looked back at Lyla as she pulled herself out and sat on Alex's leg.

"Uhm," blinked Alex, who had been petting Lyla after she had tripped and made her way onto his knee. "I got a book and an antique sword...."

With his free hand, the boy gestured to the pack on his back. "I'm kind of surprised the sword fits in there, but it's better than wearing it around, I suppose." He blinked again as Taylor asked about his eyes; tilting his head, he smiled. "It's not that unusual a question. Everyone asks about it at least once. My parents suppose it was a recessive gene somewhere in the family tree. Lucky me, right?"

Alex was slightly curious as to what the two whispered about, but he knew to respect other people's privacy. It was curious that the two had just met and already seemed the best of friends, but then, he was sitting here chatting to them, so he wasn't one to talk.
