Whitestar growled at Shadowstar. "No way are you taking my clan away from me," he hissed. Willowstar looked angry. "No. I'm not joining." Sunstar was a bit hesitent making his decision. "It's true we're starving during leaf-bare," he muttered, half to himself. His eyes were fixed on th ground, his forehead scrunched, thinking hard. "I'll tell you next gathering what I decide," he delared. Shadowstar hissed angrily.
"You foolish kittens!" he said. "Such mouse-brained fools to not join my army. Die, for all I care. Sunstar is the only one who has brains." He lashed his tail in anger. Most of his allies seemed ready to pounce at anyone who argued with Shadowstar's words. "You -"
"STOP!" Lilacdream yowled. "It's is against StarClan's will to argue during a gathering!"

Sudenlly Berrytail got to her paws "NEVER!" Then she sat back down again she would never join him even if her leader said to she would still never join Shadowstar. She began to hiss "I'll never join him!" She hissed quietly.

Florestadream · RiverClan Warrior

Breathe, breathe, thought Florestadream. Her wide eyes were not focused on Shadowstar, or Whitestar, but Sunstar. Rivershine's leader. Who just happened to be contemplating on joining Shadowstar. Her breath came in short, pained gasps as she closed her eyes. She had felt Rivershine stiffen as he heard his leaders words. Her eyes opened and she refused to meet Rivershine's gaze.
"I swear, Rivershine, if you do follow your leader into Shadowstar's ranks, you will never be forgiven," Florestadream managed, tongue tied and heart pounding. The words would not process in her mind -- the Clans were supposed to be seperate. It had always been like that. Frantically, her wide eyes searched for Ivoryclaw. He seemed as taken aback as she did, except he showed his anger better than she was.
Rivershine's gaze was cast down upon his paws as he spoke, "Florestadream, I am loyal to my clan, and though my heart disagrees with this, Sunstar is going to wait until the next Gathering. There is still time."
"Time?" she scoffed. "Time never seemed to be on anyone's side, Rivershine, so why would it be now? I propose your leader will go to Shadowstar in between the Gathering's time and give Shadowstar his word of loyalty. Time will never be on our side, or anyone's!" Her eyes were narrowed as she watched Rivershine recoil from her watchful gaze. Immediately she saw her mistake and began to back-track. "... I'm sorry, but I can't stand to hear that time would help anyone. It never has, never will, and I know what your leader's decision is -- I'm almost certain. So until we meet in battle, run with the grace I know you have, friend."
His gaze was confused until she stood and walked towards Ivoryclaw, saying over her shoulder once again, "Until we meet in battle, Rivershine." Then he understood for once the gravity of the situation. How stupid he was. How very, very stupid.

As she stood beside Ivoryclaw she spoke swiftly. "I am sure even us of the two opposites can find a common ground here -- but do not show your distaste so openly, Ivoryclaw. He will see you as a pawn. Show shock, show fear, but do not mean what you show."

Ivoryclaw's fur began to lie flat for a moment and he turned his devoid yet angered gaze toward the she cat, "When do i ever?" His thick tail felt like lashing side to side with his disgust but just as in battle he refused to do so. Now with a new snese of calm he turned his emotionlessly cold eyes toward Rivershine. He did not like the tom, nor did he care what that tom did but he was a bit worried about Florestadream's resolve. Would she really fight him? Well if she did not he would. He mind was made up in this matter. It wasnt personal really. The white warrior would only fight him if Rivershine truley sided with Shadowstar.
"Find the others," he told the she cat, "I am assuming that Whitestar will not want to stick around for the end of this." He turned and motioned to the other cats of Ivyclan. He moved away slowly through the cats to help the black warrio gather together their clanmates.

Florestadream · RiverClan Warrior

Nodding soundlessly, Florestadream weaved her way through the cats, flicking their shoulders with her tail casually, making eye contact and mouthing, "Gather up at the edge with out clan." She did this often, and the cat's eyes replied, "Yes," as they bid their goodbye's to their shocked friends. Florestadream did not like this -- no, she never liked these concequences, but she knew the peace she had would have to come to an end. Finding Mosspaw, she gave her the same signal, and looked around. Ivoryclaw was covering the other half of the Gathering's area. They were good. So she made eye-contact with Whitestar.

"We are together," her eyes said. And all he did was give a small nod everyone else would have misjudged as a muscle spasm. Overflowing with an unrationally calm aura, she headed to where the other cats from her clan were gathered together. "It is time we learn to stand together," she breathed as she reached her clanmates. Expression shielded for once in her life, Florestadream tore her gaze from her... family, to the sneering Shadowstar.

"I'm not going to play your game for power," she spat at him, earning a glare from him. And then he smiled in a very sly way, and his eyes said, "Oh, but my dear, the games -- they have already begun."

Ivoryclaw had easily foudn his way through the other half of cats. His soundless motions scared a few warriors as he passed by, making them jump a bit since he startled them. His eyes told those he wanted to gather at teh edge of the crowd, this wasnt a game. He turned away and stalked away. The only reason he could be detected was because of his bone white fur.
At the edge of the crowd he caught the look between Shadowstar and Florestadream. He stood shoulder to shoulder with the pettite she cat and flicked her with the tip of his tail, "He isnt worth it. Save your energy for the fights to come." With that he shock an emotionally void stare up at the leader and turned away. "This gathering is worthless," he hissed out loud. "I say we all just go home and ignore the likes of him," Ivoryclaw lifted his tail high with mock confidence and bravery when inside he was nothing but calm and calculated stone.

Florestadream · RiverClan Warrior

Sighing, Florestadream looked over her shoulder. The apprentices who were there with them seemed to have quickly aged from fear. The warriors attempted to stand without faltering, but their eyes held their fear and anger. Taking one look at Ivoryclaw, she said slowly, "Should we leave this... mongrel to his job as leader of NightClan?" Her voice was... quiet and monotone as she looked at the stars. Great job, StarClan, she thought, seething with anger in her thoughts. How could this happen to them? They had done nothing but obey StarClan. She shook her head at her own thoughts, and looked to Ivoryclaw once more, then Rivershine who blankly stared at his leader.
"Time won't work," Florestadream sighed, turning her back to the Gathering. She had enough of it all.

"Do you suggest we try to remove him from his spot as leader? I doubt any of the clans would be willing to follow that request. They would turn against us and he has the loyalty of all the cats from Dartclan. Lakeclan is contemplating joining him. We dont have all our warriors here to help defend and attack. It would be foolish to do anything now." His voice was deep and rough as he thought about what they could do. "The only thing we really can do at the moment is stop listening to this rubish."
He turned his sharp eyes over his shoulder to look at her. Many cats in the gathering area that had heard him seemed to agree and moved away to regroup with their clans. Ivyclan was left at the edge of the crowd, distinguished from any of the others. "Whitestar," Ivoryclaw called out, "We should leave now. Shadowstar has no hold on us and and we owe him nothing. We dont have to listen to this. Lets go."

Shrugging, she sighed and looked to the cats. "Warriors, stick by apprentices," she spoke, quiet calmly though her voice cracked at the end. Nodding to Ivoryclaw she said, "I agree... It is for... the best, I suppose." She flicked her tail as Whitestar jumped into the crowd to follow his Clan. Ears flattened in irritation as Shadowstar called out, "Cowards!" to her clan. She had to calm herself. Breathe, Florestadream, breathe, she reminded herself as she walked with her clan. She had enough of Shadowstar and of LakeClan. Those who stayed behind were now neither her allies nor enemies.

Whitestar glanced painfully over his shoulder. He knew he had made the right decision for his clan. Or, rather, he hoped he did. Though he probably endangered his Clan, he would not be able to live if they had been under the rule of Shadowstar. His eyes met Ivoryclaw's, and then Florestadream's. With a stout nod of thanks, he bounded to the front of the cats.

The seeds of a war had been planted. Now it would grow.
