Ivoryclaw had seen the nod and knew he had done what was right, whether or not it meant their survival. He could not would not give up his beliefs if it meant he had to live as a hypocrite. The clan moved along toward where their camp was and as they all entered a few curious faces turned to them to ask what had happened. Ivoryclaw had neither the desire nor the patients to tell so he headed for the warrior den. He tossed a look over to Florestadream for a moment and nodded his head with a bit of approval at how well she acted this night. With that he turned and entered. His large moss nest was in the corner that no other nests occupied and that was fine by him. He flopped down in to it and curled his thick tail over his nose.

Quietly smiling Florestadream whispered, "I feel as if I have aged a thousand years... I am going to retire to the den, if you do not mind, brother." Her brother had bounded up to her, but she dismissed him with a whisper, and she retreated to the warriors den. With a grunt, she laid herself down, head on paws, eyes heavy with worry. "I feel as if time passed and I have aged well past my prime... I feel aches and pains and regrets... Is that what is supposed to happen, Ivoryclaw?" she murmured across the lonely den. It was only them. The other warriors were outside, answering questions, and calming everyone. She was tired and coldhearted. She was not willing to get up again -- not for many, many moons.

Eyes no longer with an active gleam. Smile no longer showing. She had let go of it for the night, because, truly, it was not worth it to keep her clanmates happy when a war was on the verge of starting.

"And happiness on the verge of breaking," Florestadream whispered aloud.

Mosspaw stiffened. Sunstar was of LakeClan. LakeClan was the home of many of her new friends. She turned to look at them. "You.. are you going to join him?" she squeaked. All of their eyes were looking at the ground.
"We must do as we are told, Mosspaw," Dancepaw whispered. "We have to follow our leaders. Though I disagree with Shadowstar, I need to stay loyal to my clan." She looked around at her fellow clanmates. "And I believe everyone else feels the way I feel as well." She looked at her friends. "I am sorry, Mosspaw. May StarClan light your path." She licked the younger apprentice's shoulder and left to follow Sunstar. The gathering was over.

Mosspaw curled up in a corner, refusing to follow Whitestar. Why must everyone have different opinions? Why must Sunstar think about following Shadowstar -- of all cats? She sighed. The gathering was over, StarClan called it. They sent clouds to cover the moon. That meant the end of the gathering. Whitestar scanned his group to make sure everyone was with him. His eyes counted and counted -- no Mosspaw. He sighed and looked around. Mosspaw was an apprentice, she didn't know all the rules yet. At last he saw her sitting there, sad.

"Mosspaw, come." he ordered. Mosspaw looked up at her leader. "No.." she whispered. "Come." he hissed. Mosspaw suddenly felt small and scared. She had never seen Whitestar that mad. "Ok-okay.." she whispered. "I'm sorry." She forced herself to walk with her clan all the way to camp, but she was always one paw-step behind.

When Willowstar stepped up, Amberpaw suddenly felt off. For some reason, the leader always did that to her. Always made her feel like there was a coldness between them, even though the old apprentice and young leader had never shared words.

Shadowstar stepped up and gave his two cents, which turned out to be a fifty dollar bill. Amberpaw's eyes flashed with some emotion, but she stayed still while cats moved about restlessly, shouting arguements at the leader. her eyes strayed from the leader for but a second, where she saw Ivoryclaw. She hadn't taken note of where he was sitting, her eyes just happened to wander there. The open aggression he was showing, all the emotion that could be interpretted from his stance, was enough to tell her the severity of the situation. Her eyes flicked back to the DartClan leader, narrowing.

Amberpaw left with her clan, missing the whole exchange etween Ivoryclaw and Florestadream. She went straight for the apprentice's den, laying down, closing her eyes and thinking. Her parents, so many moons ago it seemed. Mother was oblivious, and father scolded her, always more attention to her siblings than herself. Amberpaw never understood why. Then one day, her parents took her and her siblings out for a walk. They strayed too far but sat down to talk. They told the kits that they wern't who they thought they were, and then the red. So much blood, that's all she remembered. Amberpaw woke in the Medicine cat den covered in it, and asked for weeks where her family was. Nobody answered, until she was better and could walk. The wave of pain came and went, leaving her only with her parents wish to be the best fighter, hunter, best cat in the clan.

They'd lied to her about something, and no cat knew what or why. A tear rolled down Amberpaw's cheek, and she wiped it away quickly, turning towards the wall of the den and falling asleep.

When Florestadream was sure the warriors in the den were asleep, she stood and carefully navigated herself out of the den into the moon's light. It was a soft silver and the lighting attempted to lull her to a sleep, but she shook her head and thought, No, not tonight; too much on my mind -- too much to think about. As she sat in the middle of the camp, bright green eyes serene and calm, she heard a slight shift in the wind, only for it to be her leader. The one who had chosen to heal her wounds, and not any other's.

"Beautiful, is it not, Whitestar?" she murmured quietly, as to not be heard by any nearby warriors. Florestadream's eyes opened and she stared at the moon while Whitestar's gaze stayed trained on the entrance. He slightly recoiled from her comment. He knew the hidden meaning of what she said.

"Yes... beautiful," he uncomfortably muttered. With a bemused glance, she chuckled, and turned to him.

"I see you understand my words, Whitestar," she replied calmly. She stood, and though the leader towered over her, she seemed ten times taller as her voice came out calm with a warning. "Whitestar, you are a young leader, with a weight-bearing job. Do not fight what you cannot defeat. I believe all of us have tried to fight our demons, but none so far have succeeded."

With a sigh, the leader nodded and replied, "I have my own demons, Florestadream, and none are pretty. Some are worse than other's, but all in all, they are terrible things... Aren't they?" Whitestar's eyes were challanging as he looked at the warrior.

Though, in return, she merely tossed her head to one side and challanged, "If you could understand the gravity of another cat's demons, maybe then would you understand, Whitestar." Turning to head back into the warrior's den, she said calmly over her shoulder, "Run with grace."

oOc;; "fly with grace." :3 saying from hawksong. (: love that book!

OOC: I see you are back to being Resta again ;D Im just gonna timeskip us to morning since all of us pretty much have said we've gone to bed

Ivoryclaw's amber eyes snapped open as a small breeze of the morning air caught him. He glanced sideways at the cats in the warriors den that had yet to get up. Without saying a word he slipped out of the entrance and in to the morning sun. If he groomed his pelt the way the other cats did, the bone white fur would have glittered in the light. As it was, some light reflected off of it but nothing spectacular. He moved his way to the fresh kill pile and inspected it. There were a few pieces from the prior day's collection.
He turned to the entrance as the dawn patrol entered with grim expressions. "What is it?" he called out to them with as cold of a voice as the morning air itself.
THe she cat leading the patrol, Songbird, jumped at his voice, "Nothing." She turned to her companions and went to go about her buisness. Ivoryclaw gave a small snort and turned from them toward the entrance. He would go hunting alone this morning. He could do with the solitude. With that he exited camp in search of food from his clan. The prior nights events weighing heavily on his mind.

Amberpaw woke up smothering a scream. She looked around, cold sweat all over her body. Shaking wiht fear, she noted that the apprentices for the dawn patrol had left long ago, and the others wern't so much as stirred from her terror. She sat up quickly, grooming herself enough to hide her fear. She slipped out of the den and out of camp without questions from anyone. That was the good thing about not having friends; nobody cared about your werabouts on a good day.

She made her way through the forest, not even temped by the rustling from critters in the bushes. When she got to the stream, she hopped in without restraint. The water was freezing, but it calmed her, and cleared her head. She stood there with her eyes closed until her paws were numb, and didn't flinch when she felt a presence near her. The cat, who had her clan scent, could speak when he or she wanted to.

Mosspaw awoke to the bright and morning light. She was sweating and breathing hard, still thinking about just last night. The gathering was something she refused to talk about to anyone. It frightened her, it worried her. She realized warriors could attack any moment if they refused to join Shadowstar's army. That won't help anyone, she thought.

The apprentice silently walked out of camp, into the clearing. The hill was wide and opened. She sniffed the air, then tasted it. No, there were no scents of enemy clans, only her own. She trotted towards her spot she would always escape to while a kit, the great Oak Tree. It was the only oak tree in IvyClan territory, and she loved the scent. It was huge and it supported her small body. It was the perfect place to hide from the worries invading your mind. As of what Mosspaw thought, at least. She sighed and slowly approached the large tree.

As silent as a whisper, she jumped and landed onto the lowest tree branch, a few feet off the ground. Leaping and leaping, she raced from one branch to another. She felt her heart skip a beat every time she stepped off a branch and touched another one. Higher and higher she went, climbing and climbing. She wanted to escape clan life for awhile. She wanted to calm herself down, and she knew how. At last, she reached the last branch. The top of the humongous plant. She breathed in, smelling the scent of the tree. It brought back so much memories when she was a tiny kit..

Mosspaw looked down onto the ground. She was so high in the air. Nothing stopped her. She sighed, feeling impressed at her huge improvement on climbing the tree. Her worries seemed to escape her. As well as the weight on her heart. This isn't the end of the world, she thought, remembering her mother's lines when Mosspaw was down. Only the beginning.

OOC:Hope it's okay if I just make up names!!

Ic: Lichenstripe didn't know what was going on. He looked around the Gathering place. The island was full of cats. He started toward where the deputys stood. He saw the other clan deputies. "Hello Mayfur, Leaftail, Ratwhisker. How are you?" he asked.

OOC; We are no longer at the gathering bud =D We are at the camp and its morning now ^w^

Ivoryclaw had searched all morning for food but his darned luck hadnt gotten him anything. He had managed to stray by the river in the clan's territory only to find another clanmate's sent nearby. The white warrior abandoned his quest for food and went to investigate who it was. After a moment he recognized it as his temporary apprentice. He lifted his brows and pushed through the fronds to find her in the water staring off at some far away place. "What are you doing out here alone?" he questioned, "You know apprentice shouldnt be out without warriors."
