Willowtail let out a purr of amuesment. It was just funny. "I want an apprentice too!" Willowtail meowed "when will Jaystar go up and then the apprentice ceremony will start?" Willowtail meowed sounding a little annoyed. All she wanted was to find out who got the apprentice.

Embertail stood and shook his pelt. "Well, we'll have to see who gets them," he stated, and lay down where he was. He looked at Willowtail. "I don't know. I hope it's soon," he said. There were two things he wanted. He wanted Shyfeather to get and apprentice, and he wanted to get the other one. What if Jaystar really trusted him at such a young age? He would be in total awe if the leader chose Skyfeather and Embertail. He sighed and dreamed od what it would be like. They could train together anytime.

Jaystar sat on his usual perch. A tough decision had befallen him. His own nephew and niece had come of age long ago to recieve their apprentices yet no one in the clan would ever approve of them training their kits. The tom frowned deeply. What could he do though? Lionblaze was his brother and his son and daughter were valluable members of Thunderclan.
"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather here beneath the high ledge for a clan meeting." As the cats gathered the young three kits that were to be apprentice quivered with excitement. Jaystar could feel their energy from where he sat. A smile crossed his face as he mewed, "Until these three have earned their warrior names they shall be called Birdpaw, Boulderpaw and Dawnpaw."
His sightless eyes sought out their new mentors and with a begruding sigh he mewed, "Riverheart you are ready for your first apprentice. Pass on the knowledge you have learned to Boulderpaw." The tom then shifted and called out, "Hazeltail, you are ready for another apprentice. You shall teach Dawnpaw. And lastly... Kestreleye, you are ready for your first apprentice. You shall teach Birdpaw, pass on all you know to the young tom."

Skyfeather's jaw dropped. If she hadnt realized it before it was painfully obvious now. Jaystar didnt want her or Embertail to train any apprentice. Riverheart and Kestreleye were both warriors younger than herself. How could she not see it? The shecat eyes filled with sorrow and yet it was masked with pride for her friend. She turned to the ginger and black tom with a smile. "Congratulations Riverheart. Im sure you will make an excellent mentor."

Kestreleye sat there, stunned. Him? Him. He was a newly made warrior, but he knew he didn't deserve it. But as he opened his mouth, Jaystar gave him a stern look. Turning to Skyfeather, he said, "You should've gotten an apprentice, Skyfeather. Or you, Embertail. You've both been warriors longer than I. I'm sorry." He bowed of regret to the two warriors who were obviously better than he, and walked to Birdpaw. Today was interesting. Very.

ic: Though Birdsong felt quite happy for Riverheart, she felt a pain of emotions for Skyfeather and Embertail. Oh, yes, Riverheart was a trained, excellent warrior but Skyfeather and Embertail were... older. She sighed. Having an apprentice was least on her mind. She padded next to Embertail. "You'll get yours someday," she meowed, licking his shoulder. "Jaystar can't ignore you forever." Quite awkwardly, she twisted her body to lick his shoulder, then left.

Skyfeather shook off Kestreleye's apology. "Why are you saying your sorry?" she mewed before he left to his apprentice, "You should be happy!" Despite not having a friendly environment, Skyfeather was a hopeless optimist. Thought just because she always tried to see the brightside of life didnt meant that she didnt have her stumbles. She would fall and get hurt but she wouldnt let it weigh her down. She would always put on a grin and walked bravely through her problems. That was just the way she was.
Twisterstep trotted over with a frown and an agry glare faced toward Jaystar. He was to obvious that he hated that Jaystar didnt pick his kits to have an apprentice. The small golden and white tom's tail lashed back and forth. "Its alright papa," Skyfeather purred, "There is always Spottedkit... Plus there will be more kits if Birchfall has anything to say about it." The she cat winked knowing that at one time, Birchfall's father and mother were the main suppliers of the kits in Thunderclan. No if he wasnt anything like his father they would have many Birchfall Jr.s running around. The blue gray she cat shrugged her shoulders lightly and turned away. "Oh well... Just not my time."

Stonepaw watchyed from the back as the ceremony ended. He felt sad for Skyfeather. "WHy couldn't she get an apprentice?" He shook his head and sighed. He sniled then walked over to the newly made apprenitced and congradulated them. After that he felt a bit bitter as he slinked over by the apprentice dens and sighed again. I don't even have a mentor. But why do I need to worry bout' that? He smiled boredly and chuckled a bit.
