Looking up, Aiano finally decided to tell Lorak she knew he was there. She held her chin high and had that distant look again. It wasn't that Lorak wasn't her friend... But... "Lorak. I am Alpha. I am grown. I expect you to understand that." Distant eyes stared in his direction as she turned away from her friend. "I'm six moons now, Lorak. I'm sure I can confide in you right now... Right?" she asked, eyes still distant but voice pleading. She had to tell someone. Who better than him? She trusted him -- he was extremely loyal to SnowPack. She knew -- she pleaded -- she could tell him. But then her eyes faltered and she involuntarily leaned away. Nothing seemed safe right now to her. Not even the wolf she would love to spend her life with.

ooc;; sorry if its short... i'm on my iPod.. hehe i love their complicated relationship!

Lorak shifted for a moment, intent on staying where he was and being her unvoiced guardian angel but he knew it couldnt be like that. He sighed softly and stepped out of the shadows of the tree. The moonlight glowed on his ginger pelt for a moment, turning it to silver fire before it diminished and returned to a soft glow. Lorak's ghostly green eyes were soft with good intent. He stepped forward until he was sitting a modest distance from her side. He wasnt trying to be rude about the small distance between them but he didnt want to seem like he was trying to take advantage of her. He merely nodded at her request to talk to him and stayed silent. His face was raised to the moon and his eyes peeked at her for a moment before returning to the moon as well. "You can trust me with anything. Im your loyal friend, ive been fighting along side you since the moment i figured out that my fangs could be used to kill your foes. Tell me what pains your heart Aiano."

"I'm afraid every single choice I've made as Alpha has been a mistake and just worthless hopes that maybe maybe during my turn as Alpha the Shades will disappear, as will your father, and everything will be fine... That maybe I wouldn't have to kill anyone by the time my sixth year passed. But now I await my seventh year for the violence and deaths to stop, even though i am on my fifth year." Aiano's voice was slow and unsure as she spoke, her expressions never smooth but always confused and almost... Hurt in a way. Standing, she shook her head quietly as she said quietly, "Nevermind. You should not be burdened." With that she turned her back to him. "Lorak, I cannot say there is not a possibility I will not die, but I am capable on my own. But thank you for being my, 'Angel'. I always wondered why I felt so safe." However, as she said that, Aiano did not know the side of Lorak that called for her blood. The side he tried so hard to ignore.

Lorak's eyes softened only to twinkle in the light of the moon, "Aiano, we all make tough decisions. This is not your fight and its a fight you shouldnt have to fight. This is my fathers fault as we all know... I cant exactly say why he did all this but i do know..." the he wolf hesitated. Something hissed and snarled within him, silencing his persecution of his father. He couldnt tell her what he felt everytime his claws and fangs itched. He refused to tell her about the delicious dreams he had where her blood covered the ground and put a horrid yet wonderful tang in his mouth.
His heart beat harshly for a moment as he gathered his thought, "I do know that you have been doing all that you can and thats more than i can say for Starpack. We survived and will survive. Please dont worry my leader, my life is for yours. I will take the claws out of your back and the fangs from your neck. My flesh is yours and will protect you. Your burdens are mine to bear as well. I will always be here, watching from the shadows with all the courage and loyalty i can muster." He stepped foward a moment, his lips partly open with words he wished to tell her. Tempting words that would draw her closer but a tingle in his skull made him rethink it. Was this feeling and these words genuine, or was this a feeling of desire and ambition? His desire for her blood and his ambition to rule his father's kingdom. If she came and closer would he attack her? At the present moment he was sure which motives drove him, so he decided to be nothing more to her and her guardian angel.

Over her shoulder, Aiano suggested, "Lorak... Thank you. But head back to camp." After she apoke that, she did not stay to make sure he listened. But... "Get some sleep, too. You and I are patrolling the borders together as the pack makes sure everyone is accounted for." Her unsaid words hung from her tongue, making her shudder. Just in case someone is not accounted for... I do not want to hear those words. With her final words, the Alpha wolf strolled into the shadows with her limp. Something about her face as she limped away said, "Geeze... Not as dramatic as I hoped..." But no one could see her face in the forest. Or, rather, no one knew her face except for Lorak and her long-deceased father. As her paws touched the water, she barked, "Can you see my face now? I'm sure it looks beautiful coated in pain and topped with misery, doesn't it?" A soft breeze ruffled her now clean pelt, as if the forest was answering her. "Oh yes, but it would be full of even more beauty mixed with heartbreak," it seemed to say. And Aiani could almost -- almost, you see -- agree with the forest. Except, a part of her wanted her already mending heart to keep together. But she wasn't sure if it was what she wanted or what she needed, for there is a rather large difference between the two.

Lorak watched the she wolf disappear. He let the sound of wind playing in the twisted branches of the lifeless forest around him make his thoughts drift away. "It must be easy," he whispered to himself, "To brush my words off like that." He sighed and turned away. The tip of his tail barely touched the ground as he headed back. He would go on the patrol with her and act if nothing happened, just as usual. He would guard her, as usual, and come home to a barely satisfying meal, as usual. This was his lot in life and so far, since he kenw nothing else but this life, it suited him. Yet all the while thoughts of shades and the teasing of the wind totured the creature that lay dormant inside of him. It raged and snarled to be let loose. It wanted blood but there was no way to convey the desire other than faint whispers in Lorak's head. The beast was surpessed, for now.

As Cloudandis and her hunters brought down the deer, they took it to the camp with her leading them. They would eat well tonight, considering how large the male deer was. When they brought it into camp, theyknew it would be satisfying. As usual, Alpha had gone missing on another full moon. "Rin, you and the hunters guard the kill untell all the pack is here. None of us has eaten this well in ages, and I'd like everyone to get a bite of this large kill. No one eats untell all of the pack is assembled, understand?"she told Rin, her vioce empty and toneless. "I'm going to find Alpha and Lorack, so do as I recomend. It's only fair to every one to start when we're all here." She padded off, following Lorack and Aiano's scent. They would be pleased with the kill that Rin, her, and the other two hunters had brought down.
