Mothdust lifted a brow, "Really?" He thought about it for a moment, "Okay, but i cant tell you how good of a mentor i will be... my training was incomplete." His ears drooped, "I will talk to Rosestar about it... for now why dont you make yourself at home in my den. If you are truly to be a medicince cat then it will be our den." He and his young face lit up with his angelic smile.

"Thank you so much. There is no way I'll ever be able to repay you." Birchpaw smiled broadly. How could her mentor doubt himself? She couldn't believe it. He'd always seemed so confident. What's with the sudden outburst of depression?

Mothdust nodded softly, 'Then go and get yourself some good rest. You are going to need it." He sighed. He had always put on an act of dignity and confidence. Now that she was going to be his apprentice, she needed to get to know the real side of him. The true self he hid for the good of the clan. He sighed once more and looked out of the den and in to the sky. 'please watch over my new apprentice. You were a better medicine cat than i could ever be. Please watch over her Birchleaf.' he prayed sightlently.
