-silence-

I didn't know any of the people who were lost in 9/11, but they deserve this moment of silence... I heard that they went after the Twin Towers because it was the largest trading place; the Pentagon, because it's the largest military place; and the other two places (of which I've forgotten at the moment) for other reasons. But basically, the terrorists wished to destroy us financially, as well as our strength, our military.
None of the people in 9/11 accidents should have died- they should still be living among us.
Thankfully, the people in one of the planes tried standing up to the terrorists, taking over the plane, and landing safely. They succeeded and failed at the same time. They succeeded in making the plane crash before it was where the terrorists wished for it to be, and yet they failed, because when the plane crashed, none of them were safe- they all perished.
To all of the victims of 9/11, if they were on the planes, or if they lost a loved one in the accident, a moment of silence and rememberance. I recall I was in first grade, and I was clueless about what had happened until the next day. I never did understand the tradgedy back then, but I know now that it was a horrible incident.

**silence**

I wasn't on on 9/11, but it isnt to late to speak my mind. I feel like it was a terrible and tragic thing. Although I am sad, all I could think about al of that day was how horendously amazing it is that people lost their lives to war and tyranny and I HATE it . I have never really said 'I love America.' It is a great place to live and i do enjoy it here but it never came to mind how great of a nation we are. Most of us taking a whole day to remember people we never even knew personally. 9/11 is a day that America will remember forever as a day that changed every single one of us. Even if you were 100 years old or not even born yet. People will talk about this date for centuries to come. And I hope that our ancestors can keep the memory alive.

Yes, 9/11 is more than just another date added to history textbooks, it's a tragedy that cost many their lives. they gave their lives for his, their lives were taken by others.

*silence*

But 9/11 is not a date that is to be feared, or a date that we hate because of the lives that were lost...it is also a date to be joyful, because innocent people also sacrificed their lives. That might sound bad at first, but if you think about it, they loved their country enough to save more lives. The death toll would have been twice as much if these people hadn't done what they did - innocent passengers on a plane, steered it away from a national building [dont remember what its called] and into an empty field. Although they lost their own lives, they also saved hundreds more.
It is also a day that our country showed strength. Most of the people of the US felt that it was a huge tragedy, which it was, but our country's leaders showed courage and got us through it. That alone shows that our leaders love our country and the people in it. They took us out of a state of panic; although they didn't sugar-coat the situation, they didn't freak out and say that our country had no hope. In fact, hope was what kept us alive - not in teh physical way, but mentally and emotionally, and I suppose physically in the long run.

yes, but we dont fear 9-11. (I fear going places famous like worldwide landmarks like disneyland on 911 but its not the same thing as fearing the date), it's just something to be sad about. To mourn on. For the people who gave their lives.

the terrists were on suicide mission, and they thought that doing something for their country would let them go to heaven after they die, but the are SOOOO DEAD WRONG!

luckly, they didn't hit the white house.....

EDIT: My brother was only about 6 when it happened, I was only like 1. My mom was so scared she went to pick up my brother from school. Of course, I don't remember this, but I do know that these people loved their country, and loved each life of theirs, their familes and friends. Though it's December (edit) I think we should mourn them even after months when the date happened.
