Roger cast her a whistful glance, "It is a beautiful place with trees that reach to the sky. You rmember trees right? Is howed them to you in the picture books i read to you when you were little." It was sad really. Thinking that the only way to describe something that used to be around, was through an old story book. Surely he angels had trees in their perfect zones. Perfect trees. But they were hidden well within the cities they lived in. He shook his head softly, "Perhaps someday i can show you a real forest."

"Trees," Lily Belle repeated. She remembered then, saying the same words as a child. "forest, trees." she remembered the amazing picture she'd seen. She never actually thought it was real, that there could ever be such a place so amazing when she only knew the world they lived in today, even as a child she thought this, but her mind whirled in hope and excitement that maybe, just maybe, there was.
"Wow, I never actually thought those-forests-were real," she admitted.

Roger nodded, "Yep, they are as eral as you and me. Someday i promise you are going to see them." He glanced up ahead recognizing where they were. They were at the end of a tunnel with an odd metal ladder that led up to the surface. It, at on point, had been used as a matenance tunnel. He stood next to teh ladder and called out, "Alright everyone. We are going top side. Be prepared to run if need be. You all know where to meet if you run in to trouble or are seperated. Got it?"

Lily Belle looked at the ladder, forced to leave her daydreams of seeing a forest behind. she nodded, eyeing the ladder carefully and the area around them. She wondered how far up the ladder went, but knew she would find out soon enough. She strategized quickly in her head the fastest way to get to the meeting area where theyd go if something went wrong. Sheflexed her muscles, which were tight and painful from walking in the small tunnel. she had to be prepared to run.

Grace felt her breathing get uneaven,a nd turned to Roger. "Now or never." She breathed her famous phrase. She said it just before they did anything dangerous. She felt the adrenaline push through her, and her stomache clenched. Here it was. She coudl die. She could be dead in five minnutes, but she wouldn't be. She had to make sure everyone was through. Nervousness catching hold, she held her breath, giving Roger a nod to go. She looked at her simple silver bracelet she'd found when they had first started out. It used to be her brother's but he was caught, and she had only his bracelet that she found to remember him by. 'This one's for you, EJ' She thought, kissing it before starting at the ladder after Roger.

"I think Chris is to much of a sisy to climb it" Cody said mockingly when he himself was scared of climbing it.I could die ut there. What if I get caught? I won't be alive to make another joke or meaness to my cusion ever again. I gotta be brave and make sure that my bluffs are true! Cody thought. He looked at the ladder and his legs were shaking.

Christel felt anger fume up inside her again. "I am not a-" she began harshly, starting toward Cody to hit him again. But she trailed off and stopped, noticing how his legs were shaking, and now realizing how his voice had trembled in the slightest way when he had mocked her. She said nothing more but backed away from him. She gave him a glance of slight worry, and it was genuine. Even though Cody sometimes annoyed her half to death, she knew that she [somehow] still cared about him.

Laci came up to the front of them and looked up "Well are you guys going to stand around or climb this?"she asked. She wasn't as scared as she should be and that worried her sometimes. She started up the ladder after the others. The ladder felt cold and unforgiving under her danity hands and it looked as if it was ready to give and doom them all. She was wearing lightly colored jeans with holes in the knees, old black converse, and a tight red shirt with her hair pulled up in a black ribbon.

Cody screamed when he heard Laci come up behind them and instantly talk. He had clinged onto Christel. He realized he had hugged hher. He pushed her away. "I wasn't scared! I was just,............ screaming because there was a big nasty spider with venom. yea." he said in a scared tone.
