Northwind shrugged slightly, "How wouldnt i know my deputy? He and I are the same age so i have known him for a long time. Doesnt matter i suppose. I have just had a lot of time to observe him." Northwind turned his crooked grin over his shoulder and laughed a bit. "Like i said. It doesnt really matter." Northwind would never admit that it was his fault that his best friend had been crippled. Even now he was convinced that Brokenpath had gotten the wound by being careless on the thunderpath. It wasnt his fault as far as he was concerned. He still didnt understand why Brokenpath couldnt look at him anymore.

He seems wierd when he talks about Brokenpath... He sighed and then smiled at the Warrior. Wait...He never learned about his mother. Northwind seemed to know a bit about all of the cats in the clan. He looked at the damp ground and thought for a minute . He looked up at Northwind. "Hey..." He said softly. "Hey, Northwind...I was wondering....." He stopped for a second and then began again. "I was wondering if you remember anything about my mother."

Northwind slowed down and stopped slowly. He turned his head over his shoulder and gave teh young tom a quizical glance. "You mother?" he asked smoothly, "What was her name?" He tilted his head slightly with a perfect unknowing face. "What did she look like?" HE asked trying to "remember" this cat's mother.

"Her name...?" He said. He hasn't heard it in so long. He looked at the ground. His ears went up. "Oh yeah! Her name was Spottedfur." He said softly. He thought again. "Her color was...." He looked at northwind. "I think her pelt was like yours. Maybe a little different though." He murmured.
"She died when i was very young. The twolegs killed her. I never saw my father after that either. I was guessing he probably died to, but i don't think he did now."

Northwind shrugged his shoulders, "I suppose i dont remember her. I tend to forget things that are unimportant to me. Though i am not saying your mother wasnt important i suppose, its just, i guess she didnt have any real imprtance in my life." He looked to the sky thoughtfully, trying not to be rude to the young tom. "Well, i suppose you might want to talk to Brokenpath when he decides to come back. He wont be away for long." Northwind winked at the young white apprentice. "He never is gone for long." Northwind snickered and entered the camp.

Wingpaw shook his head. "No..." He whispered. "He's gone for good." He looked at the warrior. "He's forming his own clan and he's ganna name it Lionclan." He looked at the leaders den and the the apprentice den. "I've already talked about it. He told me my father didn't care about me or my mother and left her and has a new mate. I don't even know if he's in the same clan as me anymore..." Wingpaw sat down and let out a small sigh.

Northwind turned his head around and gave a short laugh, "I dont give him more than a week. he will be ack. As for your father... well i cant say much for him." Northwind shrugged his shoulders and walked forward. "Dont give up, i am sure you will find him someday." With that Northwind padded in to the warriors den to wait out the rain.

Wingpaw watched him with a smile on his face. He flicked his tail in goodbye and walked to the apprentices den. He sat down and gave a small, peacful, sigh. Northwind Is so nice, he thought. He's probably the most caring, and wonderful cat here. Well... Besides featherpaw. He coughed again. "yeah. I caught I cold." he stood up and began to walk back to the medicine cat den. He stopped before entering. I forgot riverpaw! He thought. He turned around and headed back toward "lion clan". He sniffed the air, trying to find it again.
