Breezepaw lifted Fireleaf on the other side and began walking. He looked knocked out for a moment. Looking over the toms body he smiled at Rabbitpaw. "You got him?" He turned his head and started walking toward Oakstar and Winterstorm. "Its going to be a long trip....." Sighing he kept his eyes ahead and thought about the camp. The apprentice den and everyone relaxing and having fun. He looked up at the sky and saw the sun going down. "I hope we make it to were we're going in time..."

Oakstar slowly walked. He looked behind him as the others followed. He turned to look at winterstorm and then looked up. He was getting older and older. Soon there would be a new leader. Oakstar gave a short sigh and looked down at the ground as he walked.

As Breezepaw walked with Rabbitpaw and Fireleaf, he looked toward Oakstar. Seeing the older cat sigh Breezepaw felt bad. The leader was old but had some strenght in him. Looking at Winterstorm he saw how young the she-cat was and tilted his head remembering how well she drove the clan to this resting spot. Winterstar....He thought about the cats name if she became leader. Looking back up ahead he looked toward the sky. Please Starclan let our home be safe and let this clan survive.....

Oakstar shivered as he felt small raindrops begin to touch his pelt. He was a bit thankful for the rain but knew even if they went back to camp, it would be destroyed. The old cat looked back at where the fire was, watching the dark smoke wise and touch the sky. He looked away and stared at the ground as they walked.

Winterstorm turned her head to see where her leader was looking. "I dont think we can ever go back..." she murmured. "The fire is eating everything and even if it grows back, it wont be the same. Things will be very different." With a sigh she turned forward. The old leader beside her felt weary, his pelt wasnt as glossy as it once had been. A frown touched her lips, what would she do without him. The clan moved on past the hills of the mother mouth the point where they could only see the smoke billowing in the to the sky and a faint red glow behind the hills.

Rabbitpaw trembled a bit as she thought of what wold become of them. "Breezepaw?" she mewed, "We are going to be okay right? Starclan wouldnt just abondon us. They will lead us to a home..." She usually had more spunk and courage in her voice but right now she felt small and useless.

Breezepaw looked over at Rabbitpaw her voice wasnt as happy as usual. "Its going to be ok....Starclan will help us...." Breezepaw's ears pushed back as he thought about their home again. He repeated the words not only to insure Rabbitpaw but himself too. "Its going to be ok...."

Oakstar swallowed and looked up at the Deputy. "The words you speak are very true," He said softly. He looked up at the sky. "We may never see our old home again. It would take to long to grow back." The old leader gave a soft sigh. "If we want to live, we must find a new home."

Winterstorm nodded, "Well, moping about isnt helping anyone, lets keep a stiff upper lip and boldly go where no clan cat has gone before!" her words were brave despite her usual unbrave self. She had to at least her leader up if they had any hope of survival.

Rabbitpaw nodded and heard what Winterstorm had said. If their deputy had faith then she must have some as well. She smiled brightly and stood taller, or as tall as the little she cat could. "Winterstorm is right! Lets do this with no regrets! We are braver than any Thunderclan cat for having the courage to leave out home in order to find a better one!"

Oakstar looked over at the black and white deputy. "Your a help to the clan," He said with a smile. "If it weren't for you, we would probably still be stuck in the fire." The old lead stood a bit higher so he didn't look like he was about to drag on the floor. Though his body was in pain, he wasn't going to die untill the clan got to safety.
