Winterstar waited for the clan to finally settle. The she cat's whole countanence glowed, much like a star. "Everyone, I have returned and have been granted the lives of a leader." A few tired cheers rose for her. "Now its time for me to appoint my deputy." The she cat thought for a moment. She had being sorting through good candidates for who she wanted but one completely stood out in her mind. "I call upon the spirits of my warriors to hear me and approve my choice. Fireleaf will be my new deputy." Warmth spread in her chest. It was this brave tom that had warned the clan of teh fire. She wouldnt have him any where else but at her side giving her advice.

Fireleafs ears perked up when he heard his name. He saw the cats turn and look back at him with smiles. Fireleaf stared at winterstar and than slowly stood up. Slowly, he passed the group of cats and walked up to winterstar. "are you sure?" he said. "I mean, I don't know if I can do this. Are you sure?" fireleaf watched the black and white leader with his green eyes.

Hawkshadow nodded in approvel of Winterstars choice. She knew that Fireleaf would be a good deputy for the clan he had warned them of the fire and always seemed to get along well with the other cats. She saw that he was a little shocked by becoming deputy. She sat there waiting to hear Winterstar's reply to Fireleaf's question.

Winterstar let out a purring laugh. "If i didnt believe you could be deputy, i wouldnt have chosen you." The she cat leaned closer with a smile, "Have faith in yourself." With that she sat up and called out, "Fireleaf! Fireleaf!" Cheers for the flame colored tom rose from the ranks of Windclan. With a new vigurous leader and an honorable deputy, new life was breathed in to the clan. Energy flowed through the viens with determination to survive this test of faith to Starclan.

Fireleaf looked back at the cheering cats. A smile grew on his face and he looked back at winterstar. "thank you." he purred. Taking a few steps back from the leader, he stood a little taller. He was ready to be deputy now. Helping winterstar could be fun, as long as she hasn't changed to much. Ready to help his friend, he purred once more. His green eyes watched the black and white leader.

Breezepaw sat with the cats surrounding the new leader and deputy. Nodding to Fireleaf he could tell Winterstar made a good choice. Wondering when they would leave he stood up and stretched. Walking over to Rabbitpaw he sat down and looked at Winterstar waiting for her orders.

Winterstar gave a great smile. "Alright everyone. Lets bury Oakstar with honor and the be on our way. He wouldnt want us to mope about here and let our tails freeze off." The elders of the clan stepped forward to bury the noble leader in the shade of an old willow tree. Winterstar gave a final nod to the old tom's body. Yet she couldnt help remembering the vibrant look in his eyes while they were in Starclan. How young he had looked, his bright eyes clear and as youthful as ever. Winterstar's mouth couldnt help but quirk up with satisfaction.

Rabbitpaw glanced sideways at Breezepaw. "Can you wait until we get to our new home? Now that we have a new leader and a new deputy, i feel a bit refreshed. I hope we find our home soon so the clan will have new warriors as well." She winked at her friend playfully.

Fireleaf watched as the cats began to burry oakstar. He sighed and looked at winterstorm. He looked back at oakstar and nodded a bit. He couldnt moan all day. He was the new deputy now. He was ready. Fireleaf looked over at winterstar who was still looking at oakstar. A small smile grew on his face as he remembered the day winterstar and him played at the small river. Even if the she-cat changes now that she's leader, he'd still love the playful she-cat. Even if she was done being playful.

Hawkshadow watched as the elders buired Oakstar. She wanted to cry but she held the tears back and got up. She walked up to Fireleaf to congratulate him then walked over to Winterstar "What time should we leave?" She asked her new leader. She waited for Winterstar to reply to her question.
