Meppe glanced up, seeing the beautiful Raissa. "Good morning, Raissa," she barked in a gentle, flowing tone. It was unexpected from her appearance, and she was surprised someone was interacting with her. "Was yesterday plentiful?" She co[cked her head to the side, awaiting an answer patiently, her jet black tail stroking the soil tenderly.

Thatcher narrowed his eyes as pain clutched where Oki had dug his claws. He made no attempt to taunt back at the wolf with bravado. No, he wasnt going to try and say that he would take care of the pack. Thatcher was a steward not a king. He couldnt run the pack but that didnt mea he would let a knave run his kingdom. Thatcher, as quick as lighting rolled over crashing Oki in to the ground. When he grip hesitated Thatcher jumped up and nipped Oki near the throat before he danced away. Each movement that Thatcher made was no showy or extravigant. No he was going to get the job done.

Raissa's ears twittered a few tmes before she finally spoke carefully, hoping to take her mind off the fight between Thatcher and Oki, though she could hear the scuffles and such of the two males fighting for Alpha. "Hm... I suppose it was plentiful, Meppe. But I don't get out much," laughed the small she-wolf, smiling. "Maybe I should, but with the blind part and such... It's kinda hard, you know?" Raissa quickly added, nodding. Her ears pricked every time the snapping of jaws was heard. Eventually she tried to block out the sound. But because she was blind, her hearing was so much better than a normal wolf's, which was already exceptionally good. "I wish Thatcher would just let Oki be Alpha. Thatcher isn't ready to be Alpha. Everyone knows that," commented Raissa, turning her gray head towards the direction of the two fighting males. They know this is stupid, and someone is going to get hurt, but they don't give things much thought, do they, those males? mused Raissa, hears low to her skull, shooting up every other word.

Oki stifled a yelp as Thatcher rolled on top of him, but he was soon released, being nipped in the throat again. He leaped up, shaking the dirt off his pelt and charged. He bit at Thatcher's ear as he zoomed by. He swung around by biting Thatcher's tail and spinning, then dancing away again.

Thatcher's black ear bleed on to his face as the large v shaped scar was now apperent. Thatcher narrowed his eyes darkly and turned to Oki, still no hatred or killing intent entered his eyes. After all, this was merely a test right? Thatcher charged forward and saw Oki move to dodge. Thatcher matched his dodge and shouldered him so that the he wolf staggered slightly. Using his back left leg Thatcher kicked him so that he was sent sprawled on to the floor. Thatcher took a few paces back and stared at his opponent with his souless eyes.

Oki stood up and spat on the ground. "Still think I'm not worthy? Or do you need a little more proving?" He growled, bunching his back legs again to leap. Most of the wolves around had now understood that this was a fight for Alpha and were watching intently. Any wolf that had happened to sleep through the commotion of snapping jaws and growls was quickly filled in.

Thatcher remained quiet but stood taller with his tail raised defiantly. He observed Oki for a moment longer through narrowed eyes. Oki was strong, young and caring. He would serve the pack greatly but as an alpha? Thatcher was still unconvinced. He charged forward with his jaws parted. Oki saw his move and moved easily catching Thatcher by the neck and sent him flying through the air. Thatcher tried to twist in the air to land properly but wound up crashing his golden back leg in to the ground. A dull thud sounded from under him but Thatcher didnt flinch. He stood and staggered in pain. With an agry snort he looked down at his leg. Well he wasnt going to walking normal for a good while with that twisted foot. He snorted with disgust as many of the wolves that hated his governing techniques snickered and laughed harshly at his defeat. Thatcher glared at Oki and growled. "Fine, but you will never match up to Thunder. All of the compassion, love and skill in your body is still a hundred years to young to take him one." Thatcher turned in disgrace and limped away. The rest of the wolves in the pack nipped at him as he passed by on to recieve a swift nip on their nose back. Thatcher had lost this fight but he was stil beta.

Oki gazed, surprised at Thatcher's easy acceptance. Well, that went well. He thought to himself. He saw many of the other wolves looking at him with a new respect, and some even lowered their heads a little. Then he did what came by instinct. He raised his nose to the sky and let out a long howl. Almost all of the other wolves joined in with him.

Thatcher kept limping away from the group of wolves, ignoring the call of the others. HE wasnt going to join in the howl. Why should he? He had failed to keep Thunder's honor as the alpha. He gave a short sigh and limped in to the firest to spend some time alone to think. The trees swallowed him, making him disappear easily. THe deeper he went, the easier it was to lose himself. His mind cleared of al things, making him look almost feral. Thatcher found a simple glade to sit in. He glanced up to the sky as he laid down. He didnt utter a single word. Rather in his heart he apoligized to Thunder.

Even though she knew what was happening, Raissa still lowered her body to the ground to protect herself from the sudden howls. Nodding a swift good bye to Meppe, Raissa stood. Her eyes were calm as she flitted off after Thatcher, her pawsteps quiet and light. "Thatcher," the young she-wolf murmured, following suit after the male Beta. "Was that wise?" pondered the pup. "He may be compassionate, but not ready. Even i can tell," growled Raissa, ears perked forwards. Upon entering the glade, she sat beside the Beta.
