Echo turned and saw the other dolphins playing. She couldn't help herself; she ran to join in. She twisted around them, squeaking playfully, and chasing the other dolphins.
"Hello," she greeted.

"Hello", Smokey said back. He twirled around her. Flip came up and ran into them. They laughed playfully. They swam and spun. They were friends. Little did they know that the ocean was about to be highly polluted and their friendship was about to be on the brink of extinction andthey would need to use every bit of strength they had.

"Yes", said Smokey. "I wanted to go to the south reef today. Wanna go to?", he waited for an answer. She then nodded and they all swam the mile to the reef. It was very quiet and almost no one talked. Every so often one of the dolphins would cough or sniff. It was as if they were as non knowing as possible. They liked their lives though. Just then Echo started to play. Flip joined and soon Smokey. They spun and laughed. It was fun, and they never wanted to change.

Echo laughed, too. Suddenly, though, a shadow cast over their heads. Echo looked up, and saw a large shadow, framed against the sun trickling through the water around it. A net came into the water soon after, though none of the dolphins knew what it was.
"Hang on," Echo said, swimming off toward it as the other dolhpins stayed on her command. She looked at the net, and slowly swam into it. She sniffed the rope of the net carefully, but when she tried to move away she realized her snout was stuck, and she was in the net. She twisted and turned, but the net only snapped shut behind her.

"Echo!!!", Smokey yelled. He swam as quickly as possible to her side. "Are you okay?", Flip asked. Echo mumbled but the two dolphins didn't know what she was saying. "We'll try to help you out!", screamed Smokey, but as he spoke the net began to rise toward the surface. "What's happening?!", yelled Flip. All three of the dolphins were scared to death. Smokey started to chew on the net. Flip joined him. They weren't going fast enough! The net was risung quickly now.

IC: The boat began to pull the net faster, and Echo finally pulled her snout free.
"No, don't chew the ropes, your snouts might get stuck!" she cried, but the boat was going too fast for them to catch up anyway.

Ic: Smokey sighed with relief. "Are you okay?", he asked. Just then, he heard a sudden cry for help. "Help!!". "Do you hear that?", he asked the other dolphins. They listened. "Help!!", it sounded again. They all stopped to listen, then they swam toward the sound. It led them to a once active reef. The coral was white and sick. The fish were and slowly rising to the surface and all of the plant life was . "Oh-no", Smokey whispered as he saw the piles of garbage everywhere.

Ama swam around and heard some yowling. She instantly realized it was Echo, Smokey, and Flip. Ama swam faster towards the sound. Beyond the distance, she could make out the shapes of the dolphins and Ama harder. "Almost.. there. Almost... there." She encouraged herself. "Come on..." Ama finally reached her friends. Exhausted as she was, Ama realized Echo was in a net. She started biting it. "BREAK!!" she yelled in fustration.
