Jones took a deep breath. He could smell rain on the air; something he was used to far before he was changed. He looked around at the others in the house. They were all idly occuping themselves. Jones himself was sitting at the piano, absent-mindedly playing a tune from a piece long forgotten by time. Ah yes, it reminded him of the warm sun against his skin. Of the feeling of sand between his toes. Beyond all, he missed the beach the most. Jones might have been one of the oldest in the coven, but he felt as if he'd been changed but a year ago. Oh how short time seems when looking back, but so long and painful looking ahead.

Harlem sent a cool glance through his crimson eyes to Tally. He neither smiled nor made an attempt at it. The wind ruffled his chesnut brown hair for a moment, then settled again. "I think that would do." He added softly. His voice was even and almost monotone. He turned forward once more and gently sniffed the air. On it came th tantalizing scent of humans. He narrowed his eyse and moved away from the small group. The way he walked over the ground almost made it look like he was hovering. He had perfected his walk long ago. He was well over three hundred years by now, practically ancient. Still he had made it this long depite the fact that he had been opposed to eating humans at first.

For giggles, he played the recently classic "Bumblebee" with one hand. He got a few stiffled laughs, and slowed the notes down, adding a tune with the now soft backround buzzing. It reminded him of when he had first hunted with the traditional vampires and tried human blood. He pushed the thoughts away. No, he was not a monster, but he couldn't believe what he'd been thinking. He wasn't comfortable living with the traditional vampires, but that's because he knew what they were capable of. Nearly two hundred years had shown him that.

ooc: Do our vamps have powers, too?

Lucas nodded, grinning as he practically glided away from the others. He used one of his own techniques, fox-walking. It was how he walked so silently, and smoothly, and being a vampire, he barely needed the extra help of silence. He smirked, and walked smoothly into the clearing where the travelers were, smiling helpfully. "Are you four lost?" He asked innocently. "I know the way to the nearest town, if you'd like some help." The four lost travelers, backpackers, looked at him, bewildered, and slowly nodded their approval. Except for one. He was wary, but Lucas ignored him, completely sure that his 'comrades', his family, would be able to take them down. It was usually his job to do the distracting at first anyway. Until the real hunt began, that was.

Harlem watched for a moment before He saw Lucas walking with the backbackers in some direction that was deffinantly not gonig to lead them back to safety. The older vampire stepped from the shadows of the trees. He stepped up behind the last backbacker who happened to be a girl. The vampire laid a hand on her shoulder. She jumped whirled around. Yet the moment her eyes met his, she was mesmerized. "Hello," he whispered softly. She looked intoxicated now. With a slight smirk he pulled her away to the shadows with no conflict at all. He carressed her shoulder slightly with one hand and with the other tilted her head to the side. He bit in to her neck and let the warm liquid pass over his pale lips.

OCC: Sure, you can make your characters have powers. ;)
IC: Tally walked in front of the group, beside Lucas. They had them deep into the forest now, cornered on every side. She stopped and turned around, eyeing the group carefully. She could see them quivering now, not enough for any human to notice, but her sharp eyes picked up their tense, fearful movements. They knew something was wrong as Harlem began feasting and the other vampires moved in hungrily. Suddenly one of them shrieked and began to run. Tally's red eyes blazed, and she snarled and ran after the terrified creature. She grabbed it fast, and it hadn't even come a foot from the group. It was a child, she realized, a small girl, only about two or three. She shrieked again, seeing Tally's eyes. She narrowed them, but was almost mesmerized by her face. She had never seen anything in such fear before. She usually feasted on experienced hikers, but this was just a family out camping, who had just gotten slightly lost, and would probably have lived without the vampires sharp noses smelling their tracks. She shook the flurry of thoughts from her head and bit into the girl's neck.

"That just leaves two for me." Lucas spun around, and looked at the two. One was a teenage girl, the other the father. "Run big daddy run," Lucas hissed to himself as he stepped closer to the girl. He had a preference of females, and he didn't know why, but he usually abided by that preference unless there was no other way around it. The girl's eyes widened, and the whites of her eyes were visible. She took a step back, and Lucas grinned. Then she turned and bolted away. He laughed, and streaked past her and slid to a stop in front of her. "Sorry, not getting away that easily." She screamed, and he leaped fluidly, sinking his teeth into her neck, and his eyes grew ever blacker by the moment.

Within moments of finishing her feast on the child, she forgot all her guilt and second-thoughts, and only felt the new strength in her body as she finished. She turned to the father, who was about to lunge for lucas in a sad attempt to save his daughter. As Tally stepped toward him, he faced her in rage, for she had killed his other daughter as well. But then, as his small mind took in her pale, perfect features that every vampire had, and her long, flawless curly hair, his face relaxed, and his eyes glimmered. She smiled wickedly, narrowing her burgundy-crimson eyes to tiny slits.
"You poor soul," she teased, laughing a laugh like bells in the breeze, and then quickly, too fast for the human to see in his last quarter-seconds of life, she lunged and bit into his warm neck, her perfect teeth breaking the skin as his eyes glazed over and he wrenched in pain before he was motionless, and the loud thumping of his heart sped up before screeching to a stop.
