ic) George Cooper had just gotten back from a long day alone. He picked four wallets from tourists, and stole two cameras. They were layed out in front of him on an old table in an abandoned warehouse he called home. The guys had been there earlyer that day, which was obvious, because they left him a pile of trinkets. They liked to leave him presents for his hospitality, along with notes of their spying. He called his closest group the "King's Own", and the name was learned to be feared from most thiefs. Nobody but the King's Own knew George's name, and not even George himself knew his origional name. He was refferd to all as the "King of Thieves".
He looked through the pile of trinkets, thinking about his Own. Their job was to go about the city, spying for those thieves who thought themselves too highly. If they were close to getting caught, George reminded them nicely to keep hidden. He taught his Own the trade, and they in turn taught others it, too. The problem with passing on your craft, was that you had to make sure it wasn't used in the worst of ways.
George came across a book in his pile, titled "Rosewood". It was a deep scarlet, the colour of blood, but faded, worn, and torn by time. It had a tree branch on the front, just laying there. Under it, was the author's name, so small he could barely make it out. It was simply, "The Bluejay". He opened up the cover, and it nearly fell off. Someone must have admired his taste in old books. Turning to the first page, his eyes drank in the sweet literature. Though he felt a strange tickle in the back of his throat. These words itched to be read out loud. So he read them.
Once, in a world not unlike our own, There was a forest. It was grand, the trees growing so high, you would swear the clouds would swallow the tops. All around, the smell of roses draws you in, from which the forest gets it's name. There are creatures of all sorts running about, stopping to look at the strangest one,
at that minute, the book seemed to fade away. He didn't realise he was getting sucked deeper than would be possible by the alluring words. Not until he looked up to see a tiny pink squirrel with two tails.

Here my story ends. My troubles are over, and I am at home. Often before I am quite awake, I dream. I dream I am back in the orchard at Birtwick Park, standing with my old friends under the apple trees.
Aera slowly lowered the book to her lap as the whimsical tale of Black Beauty soaked up her thoughts. She has just finished reading her favorite book for the fifth time, and she was content. Her thirst for reading continued, and she sighed, standing up to make her way to her small, white bookshelf. Her fingers threaded through the hard covers one by one, lingering on each title to make sure she wasn't missing anything. After fingering through each delicate story, she sat back and stared, confused. She had read everything on this shelf. Slightly saddened, Aera rose and left her room. Perhaps there was a good read in the basement, where her fathers' anchient books were stored large cardboard boxes. She had forbidden herself to even touch the only memories of her biological father, but this was an emergency. She slid down the stairs and jumped when her bare feet hit the hard pavement. It was very cold. On her toes, she gingerly stumbled to the boxes looming in a black corner. There was no lightswitch to relieve the darkness with. Silently, she lifted the two lids and peered into the enclosure. There were no books. She sighed, leaning in closer. Suddenly, Aera traced the thick outline of a big book with her pale blue eyes. Startled and joyful, she reached down and picked up the book. It was quite heavy, a challenge. Aera welcomed challenges. She set the book down on the concrete and took the best look she could while in a room with no lighting. The cover was ragged and old, just as she had assumed with her fathers' books. She drank in the musty aroma and realized that her father probably touched the same book. Her fingertips traced the cover. When she removed them, they were clouded in dust. She could only scarcely make out the title, "Rosewood", in large, crimson letters. The book appeared to be a dark, unidentified color, but she was too eager to try and figure out the exact shade. Her fingers gently pried the book open. The first words on the first brittle page jumped out at her. She softly read them aloud.
"Once, in a world not unlike our own, There was a forest. It was grand, the trees growing so high, you would swear the clouds would swallow the tops. All around, the smell of roses draws you in, from which the forest gets it's name. There are creatures of all sorts running about, stopping to look at the strangest one..."
Suddenly, bursting light illuminated the page. Confused and alarmed, Aera looked up from the book to see if someone happened to turn on the lights. Instead of her basement, however, she saw a large, open surface with tall, looming trees and cute shrubbery on a field of lush grass. Strange creatures bustled about, and Aera sat in awe. What had happened to her?
ooc: I got a little into my situation... xDD

Mikaela rubbed her eyes. She got up from her messy bed and looked at the time. 1:34 PM. She slept in wayy to late. Sighing, she hurried to her drawers and grabbed a cute skinny tee and some skinny jeans. Nothing to fancy today. Her style for clothes varried depending on her mood. She gasped as her mind suddenly realized that she was really really late for school. There was only 1 more hour and about 30 minutes left. How could her dad not wake her up?? Rubbing the sleep out of her eyes, she ran into the bathroom and combed her hair until it went wild. She raced downstairs. "MOM! DAD!!" she yelled. "I'm seriously late for school!! Why didn't you wake me up??!!" Mikaela's mom stuck her head out her bedroom door and laughed. "Mikky!" her mom said, using her baby nickname. "It's weekend!!" Mikaela's hand shot up to her head and she hit her forhead. "Oh god!" she groaned. "Why didn't I think of that??" She walked up the narrow stairs, feeling stupid. The house was tiny with the little motorcycle shop right downstairs. It was dirty and old, but it was comfortable. She slumped into her room and sat down onto her favorite purple beanbag chair. Mikaela smiled as her blue eyes met the new book she got from a garage sale, Rosewood. The blood-red colour made it spooklooking, but the letter's textures made it feel safe. She smilied. One thing she loved better than sleeping and motocycle riding was reading. None of her friends new, though. Mikaela flipped open the stiff pages of her new book. It was dusty. Really dusty. She sighed and wiped it as clean as she could. Then, she read the first page out loud. The words just begged to be read out loud. She couldn't helpt it! "Once, in a world not unlike our own, There was a forest. It was grand, the trees growing so high, you would swear the clouds would swallow the tops. All around, the smell of roses draws you in, from which the forest gets it's name. There are creatures of all sorts running about, stopping to look at the strangest one" Suddenly, Mikaela felt herself being pulled so hard. It felt impossible to breathe, it seemed as though she was crammed in a small place, no air.. Mikaela landed on green green grass. All around her, there was colour. Butterflies floating in the air, flowers dancing with the breeze.. Mikaela smiled. "Where am I?" she asked herself.

Telec walked quietly around the book store. He spotted a door in the back room that he had never seen before. He creeped into what seemed a musty old room. There was a small box, enough to carry atleast fiffteen books. He carefully opened the oak hatch and saw just one book in the chest. Telec picked up the book slowly and read the name, "Rosewood." He said with a soft tone trying not to make too much noise. He stroked the binding carefully. The binding was the color of ebony, and the cover was a deep scarlet. It was worn out leather-the best type of covering- and the pages were crinkly and smelt of old fine pages. He had loved books when he was a kid. He turned to the first page. for some reason the first page was a different feeling. It felt like the page was just printed. It felt new-whitch was very odd to Telec- and weird. On the first letter was a dragon. It was finely printed with silver for the colors and gold was glimmering in the eyes. He started to read the first page:
"Once, in a world not unlike our own, There was a forest. it was grand, the trees growing so high, you would swear the clouds would swallow the tops. All around, the smell of roses draws you in, from which the forest gets it's name. There are creatures of all sorts running about, stopping to look at the strangest one..."
He closed his eyes and whsipered the words again savoring the words in his mouth. A burst of wind came in the room and Telec felt strange. The room vanished and he was in the air. The wind whispered in his ears as he opened his eyes. He was floating in the sky. He started to scream for help- he's kinda scared of heights, who wouldn't be?- but he noticed he wasn't falling. He gentally floated down to a grassy feild. He heard someone speak. He whiped his head around to see a girl sitting in the feild. 'Hello?" He stammered.

" Ash! Get down here, you have a package! " Asher groned and said, " I don't wanna! " She heard heavy footsteps clunking up the stairs. She turned over on her side and put a pillow on her head and groned again. Her brother knocked on her door and said, " I'll leave it outside. Okay? " After a few minutes, he left. She waited until he left until she got up out of bed and tiptoe to her door. She opened it a crack and pulled in the box. She closed the door and scurried to a open place on the ground. When she pulled the item out of the box she smilled. It was a large dusty book. She blew the dust off of it and read a simple title, " Rosewood" In a few minutes, Asher was curled up on her bed with the book. But when she looked to see who the author was it was two simple words, " The Bluejay. " Her eyebrows bent. Who was this misterious Bluejay? She gentily opened the book and read the first paragraph out load. Once, in a world not unlike our own, There was a forest. It was grand, the trees growing so high, you would swear the clouds would swallow the tops. All around, the smell of roses draws you in, from which the forest gets it's name. At that moment, the world seemed to fade away and in a few minutes she was dragged into a world of light and color. A whole different world then Earth. She gasped as she saw a blue and sliver horse with wings. It passed her without a sound. It just stared at her with those intense eyes and then lopped away. It was like this was a dream.
