Come on, they're almost gone, Miss Latte, stay happy! Kayden thought to Lucia desperately, hearing the Shade's depressing thoughts whirl through her mind. How 'bout if I sing off-key and make you laugh, anything, anything... He kicked the oncoming Shade "below the belt"; the Shade groaned and rolled over onto the ground on his back. Kayden swooped and smacked him in the face; he felt the Shade's nose break and warm blood began to flow. "All right," the Shade croaked, and disappeared with a puff of black smoke, leaving only his blood on the ground.

Shia sighed. They were going to lose this fight, there were too many shades. He held this large ball of evil looking plants and threw it at the shades. They started attacking them; gnawing their weird looking skin. Shia had to laugh, it was quite a sight. Shia looked around him, darinly. He barely took his eyes off of the shades for a few seconds. Still no Ash. C'mon! he thought as if he could summon her out of that. We need Ash! Our only hope of not getting caught is with Ashley here! He turned around and hit a shade with a large vine. His energy was back.. but barely. When would it run out again?

Lucia heard Kayden's voice ring out in her head, loud and strong. She felt uplifted by it and reached for a kick straight out at the man. She hit him in the chest, winding him, and he shook his head in defeat. "You got me..." he rasped, before disappearing. There were still more though, and she saw one trying to sneak up behind Kayden. Not smart, no, not at all. But just in case Kayden was occupied with another Shade, one she couldn't see, she leaped at it, punching it in the face too. That was when she realized that this Shade was a female, and a good fighter at that. The went, exchanging blows, and Lucia was doing everything she could to keep the despair at bay. A new puppy. And Bolt. Two puppies! The absurdity of that bouying thought made her laugh, and the Shade took a step back, quizzical. Lucia took her chance and punched twice, but the Shade came back in the fight. Lucia was now feeling what would soon be bruises, but she was not one to give up.

Watch it, she's gonna go for your legs, Kayden warned Lucia quickly. They wouldn't lose this fight... Come on, guys, we can win this! We're almost there, we've already destroyed over half of them! He stood back from the fight; now that there were less Shades, he would be more useful as just a mind reader for his companions. He continued transferring thoughts from the Shades to the Praesentia, speaking warnings into his friends' heads, encouraging them...

Shia gasped for breath. His energy was running out fast. Everyone else around him; the praesentias, at least, were doing good. They seemed like they had energy. Why am I the weakest around here? The thoughts and questions hit him with a bang, but no answers came. He sighed and tried to summon another mini earthquake. Not enough energy at all. He raised his hands and out shot vines of every direction, wrapping around a large shade and strangling it. "Whoa.." Shia whispered. "I never knew I could do that."

Thanks! Lucia thought back, and leaped up, kicking her legs high and hitting the female Shade under the chin, pushing back, and landing on her feet again, having completed a flip. The Shade stumbled backward, holding her chin and glaring at Lucia. She leaped again, and grabbed Lucia's arms, pinning them behind her, and she put her chin on Lucia's shoulder, hissing gibberish in her ear, but the meaning was plain. She was trying to push those suicidal thoughts into Lucia, wanting the Praesentia to kill herself, maybe a few friends as well. Wouldn't that be helpful? None of your 'friends' even like you Lucia. What's the point of living if life itself is against you? Wouldn't it be easier to just end it all? You know it would...

"No!" Kayden yelled out loud. Don't listen to her, Lucia, you know we like you, we're all like brothers and sisters... He couldn't stand it. With unbeatable determination he threw himself at the Shade attacking Lucia, knocking her to the ground, freeing Lucia from her touch. "You'll pay for that," he hissed through his teeth, pinning the Shade to the ground. Get her, he thought to Lucia. Get her now, while I've got her..

Lucia had fallen on the ground after being freed, still shaking off the thoughts. Kayden's thoughts sounded as if yelled into her mind, bringing her back to the fight. She summoned a gust of air, shoving it down on the Shade's throat, pressing down, choking the lady. "Goodnight..." Lucia whispered, ordering the breeze to push all the way, attempting to kill the Shade. Of course, she probably wouldn't die, just disappear. Unless they were dead when they disappeared. If they were living in the first place. The Shade winked and disappeared, leaving Kayden restraining nothing, and Lucia propping herself up on the ground with her hands behind her. "Thanks..." she murmured, knowing Kayden would hear.

Shia continued to have vines burst out of his palms. That was the one move that killed most shades the fastest. He glanced around. Still no Ash. Suddenly, he felt a female shade approach him. You don't want to kill me.. she hissed into his ear. Come to our side. None of your friends care about you. They never wanted you to live with them. They lied sayin- Shia started screaming. "NOO THEY DIDN'T LIE! THEY CARE! YOU BIG FAT MORON!!!" He was so furious. He felt all the energy draining back to his body.. he clenched his hands to fists and twisted his jaw. There was an earthquake. One so big and massive. It was the largest one yet. Shia started to smile. He was doing it!

"Don't mention it," Kayden mouthed back, also sending the words into her mind. "I couldn't let her do that to you..." He walked over to her and put a hand on her cheek, turning her face to make him look at her. "Are you okay?" he asked, his eyes full of concern.
He was getting distracted...he made himself still focus on the battle, sending the Shade's fighting plans to the minds of his friends...
