"By the time I get up, the Government will be gone." But he got up anyways. Placing his mask on his left side, the man stretched lazily before following Painter. His body was slim, but well muscled, despite the lack of a heavily sculpted body.
"So what's the mission?"

"Dunno. Maybe we really are attacking the capitol. Who knows?" He swiftly jogged to the ops room and saw a very intoxicated Gamma Commander leaning heavily on the wall.
"Partright?"
"I think....that you....should take...Yvonne...I mean, you're tired an' all..." the team leader had to stop to breathe. "but she's a good'un. 'sides...I can't come on this one...not with my guy still gone. s'yeah. G'luck." And with that, the Gamma team leader collapsed on the floor. Right there.
Painter scratched the back of his head. "What was that about?"
"I think he wants you to take one of his teammates for the mission. Can't tell if he wanted it permanently. I know he was intoxicated, but I guess a commander's orders are orders for his team." Sarah shrugged, her face holding a strange expression.
"I'll call her in~" Logan called, before moving to the speakers. "Yvonne Fatima, please report to the Central Ops room. Yvonne Fatima, please report to the Central Ops room."

Yvonne was completely unaware of the fact her drunk--very, extremely intoxicated--commander had just reassigned her to another team. In the middle of her precious alone time with her beloved book, the woman almost fell out of her precarious position on a railing as her head snapped up at the secratary's voice blared out over the speaker system.

"Yvonne Fatima," the voice declared, "please report to the Central Ops room." As Logan repeated himself for a second time, Yvonne pursed her lips and gently closed the book again. What could she have done wrong? She couldn't recall for the life of her what she could've possibly done to have her name be announced over the speakers, but as she hurried off to the Operations room, ideas began spinning through her head.

I suppose I should be grateful I lasted this long, Yvonne thought absently as she halted her swift pace to rap smartly on the door to the Central Ops room with her knuckles. Opening the door, she walked in, eyes straight ahead as she snapped a quick salute. "Yessir?" she began, before noticing her team leader collapsed on the floor. "...what the heck?" With raised eyebrows at the curious scene before her, Yvonne forgot that she was in the presence of superiors and started, "Did the old fart fin--" before correcting herself with a cough and asking, "What happened to him?"

Sarah chuckled lightly and shook her head. "You're not in trouble, relax. Partright's assigned you to the Alpha team for this mission, maybe more. Couldn't tell. He passed out too quickly." She shrugged and looked back at the wall of computers.
"Welcome to the team Yvonne!" Painter called, grinning.
"So. I've decided that it's time to send some of our teams to the Capitol. See what damage we can do. It's risky business, sending my elite teams, and we'll be greatly wounded if we lose you, but I trust you and I count on you to do it. You're the only ones who can do it, and if we leave the Capitol alone, they'll surely grow stronger while we die out, lost without any new children to join our ranks." Painter raised an eyebrow at Sarah's speech. His joke had been right. They actually were going to the capital. "So. I want you to take the motorbikes, travel by night, get there unseen. See if you can sneak into any of the outskirts, but hit an important building. Then pull back, and we can evaluate the damage. See if we have to do more, pull out, train, whatever. It's an evaluation stage for both us and the Capitol. So, are you ready?"
"Yes!" Painter stood straighter. Finally, something really, truly exciting. He could see his brother frowning and shaking his head, a light sparkle in his eyes.

"He did what." Alpha team? While her ego hadn't allowed that Yvonne think of herself as a particularly bad agent, Alpha team was still a tad bit out of even her own ambitious achievements to achieve before twenty three, and here she was at just a bit before twenty one. Of course, she reasoned to herself, the position probably wasn't permanent. No need to get overly excited over nothing.

"Hello, Painter," Yvonne said politely, dipping her head in greeting towards the older man. After a lifetime in real-combat situations, she understood the risk one ran by grasping a hand. Even that small physical contact could be utilized to its utmost potential by a skilled opponent, and as unlikely as she was to run into someone who wanted to kill her in a Nighthawk establishment, it never hurt to be paranoid, especially not when one lived in a situation as she did. She listened without comment to Sarah's mini-speech, and inclined her head slightly at its conclusion. The only sign that Yvonne was quite pleased with what Sarah had in mind was a quirk of her lips which melted away into a neutral expression not a second later.

"I believe I can help with selecting an important building," Yvonne commented in the small silence after Painter's loud approval. "These government types are all the same," she continued, slipping into her area of expertise. "If there are weapons, vaccines, or other important biological items in a building, they always include their fancy air filtration units: Heating their air so that nothing alive may escape and then reusing it? While humans don't notice this, the trapped air's brethren aren't quite so dense and are quite aware that the right amount of air does not flow in and out of the particular building. Likewise, various plant and wildlife notice when particularly shifty, stiff or stressed men enter and leave a building regularly. While such things may be hidden from prying humans, everyday factors in the ecosystem notice more than you might think." Quite aware that she had explained a little more than was necessary and probably had bored the room's occupants to death, Yvonne crossed her arms and sent another glance towards the felled Commander. "Er, shouldn't someone send him to the Infirmary?"

Painter nodded, glad he at least knew some of her abilities; he would have been lost otherwise.
"I'll tend to him as soon as I send you off," Sarah replied. It was obvious that she was anxious to send them on their mission, and Painter understood why. Night was falling. The hawks would take to the streets, and set off on their destination, and nothing would stop them.
"What about Shepard?" Painter asked.
"I'll send him on after you. You two can rendezvous, since he hasn't shown up yet."

"Let's go then!" Painter waved off, and ran toward the garage, opening the door with a hurried pin-code entering, before jumping onto his own motor bike. Without waiting for the others, he checked that there was no one outside, and opened the door, shoving off with a roar. He sped along the city, and raced out to the desert roads, where no one but his fellow Nighthawks would be. They would catch up quickly enough. They always did.
