As a lot of you may know, (by word of mouth, one of us, or the news), there are a lot of wildfires going on in California at the moment, forcing thousands of people to leave their houses. The Red Cross has set up evacuation centers at nearby schools, and produce stores are all donating food to the evacuees. I found it really kind of them, (the policemen are working on their vacation days to block the roads for safety reasons too), and we have both firefighters and policemen alike from Arizona and New Mexico, and cities I've never heard of in California. Everyone's teaming up to help us, we've got super-scooper planes from Quebec too.
So, my friend (Darkflight), and I decided to join in on this cycle of giving and we went to the closest Red Cross evacuation center and volunteered our day to help them help the evacuees. It was nice seeing people smile in this tough situation, and I'm glad I donated some of my hours to them. They needed, and deserved them.
So yeah, I don't know if that counts, but if any of you are near an evacuee center, I suggest giving some time to help them, or donate some money to the Red Cross. They are all very kind people, with only the kindest intents for all evacuees, of any disaster. It warms my heart to see such kind people, all helping out.
