Aki walked and by Ren and watched the people introduce themselves. She smiled at them as they showed up. When it was time for them to sit down and make camp she sat by a new person instead of Ren. Looking around she chose her next companion of the moment finding a rather odd looking character. What was his name again? Ryuu was it? She sat down next to him and said "Hello I'm Aki but i'm sure you already know that" Aki's blue eye's were shinning and she had a soft smile as she looked at Ryuu waiting for a response.

Mei-Ling smiled at the name. Ren. So unusual and short. Nothing like her family's names.
Her sister was Ai-Li, her mother Jay-Li, and her father, Qi Xiang. They were all long but pretty. At least Mei-Ling thought.
She sighed at the thought of her family. Her heart ached. Mei-Ling's dad was away somewhere where Mei-Ling didn't know, her mother was tiring herself out by taking care of her daughters and working, and her twin Ai-Li, who was very complicated and dramatic at times, had a disease, ADHD, which made her hard to work with.

Ren ignored the small pebble that had hit his hand. He just closed his eyes and turned on to his side, using one arm as a pillow. He curled his other hand beside his chest and began to slow his breathing on purpose. The blanket he was laying on wasnt the most comfortable thing in the world but it did its job by keeping the sharp rocks and annoying pebbles he was sleeping on from biting in to his side. After a short while he felt his body relax as he began to drift in to a slight sleep. He never really dreamed while he slept. His nerves at night were to high strung for him to even fall asleep. He usually just fell in to a minor unconcious that could easily be broken if his sense of battle went off.

She laughed, wich sounded a lot like littile bells. Her eyes danced with laughter. Aiko gave Ren a smile and murmered, "" I'll tell you later. I'll let you sleep. " She stood up out of her crouching positon. She gentily walked over to the other guy who was trying to light a fire. She crouched down next to him and said, " You need some help? " She gentily looked at him with her warm earthy amber eyes. Ping gave another squeal of happiness as he settled down to sleep.

Ryuu tossed the rocks down by the girl's feet and turned away, laying down on the hard floor. He didn't like it when people looked at him like that. Like he was something to be pitied, or something that one should have sympathy for. He was just fine on his own and he thought it would do the world good to know that. Especially the way she looked gently at him, as if he were an unstable little child. I'm not seven anymore you know! And even when I WAS seven, I was fighting for my sister! Not an immature brat like I'm sure you were. He tapped the ground lightly, twice, once with one finger the other with two, and the ground smoothed out beneath him, nice and flat with no rocks protruding out.

Mei-Ling sighed, singing all her 'friends' getting ready for bed, or at least relaxing, she did so too. She sighed and let her back lean on the tree closest to then, which right next to their little circle they formed. She sighed and let all her memories run through her head...
She opened her eyes. The light was fading. Mei-Ling remembered someone. She shivvered. It'd been long since she remembered the pretty girl...
Her eyes were a dusky green color. Her face was pale but tanned. Her lips were a soft shade of a very light pink. Her hair was black, short, and thinned a layered. It was sort of spiky, but not really. She had on a little sundress and flip-flops there first day Mei-Ling met her. The girl was petite and average height. She was a little shorter than Mei-Ling, but Mei-Ling was quite tall.
"HI!" the girl said. Her green eyes lit up, her small mouth forming a smile. "I'm Annie."
"Mei-Ling.." Mei-Ling whispered, her voice barely higher than a whisper. Annie smiled wider.
"Nice name! I'm part asian, but very little. That's where I got my black hair and yellowish skin. The rest of my family are... from other places!" Annie gave a little jump. Mei-Ling smiled. She liked Annie. She was funny, cute, and her voice was so pretty. It sounded like bells.
Suddenly, Mei-Ling remembered who Annie was exactly. Precisly, perfectly. She was her friend.
The pain filled Mei-Ling's eyes. She remembered Annie. It was a long time ago since they last met. Annie... Her cracked lips tried to mouth the word, but Mei-Ling couldn't. Why? Why is she feeling so bad about Annie?
Because Annie tought me so many things! the small voice in Mei-Ling's head said. mei-Ling sighed. Yeah, but Annie left me! Tears filled her dark brown eyes. She pushed them away. I won't let Annie make me cry.. she growled.
At last, Mei-Ling looked away from the group. She let her head lean on the tree's root and tried to fall asleep.

" Fine, be like that. " She muttered to herself. " I'll be the bigger person. " She picked up the rocks and began to strike them together. A small spark lit up and Aiko smilled. She laid it against the sticks and a small fire burst forst. She sighed and stood up. She noticed that everyone was going to sleep. She pulled her mat out from her pack and laid it down a few feet away from the fire so Ping could lay down.  She decided to climb the tree and go sleep in the branchs.  She pulled herself up into the tree and laid her head against the broad trunk.

Ryuu ignored the fire, Can she even firebend? What's the point of a bending skill if you cant use it? and promptly fell asleep.

"Haha! Run Mar-Mar!" a young red-haired boy ran behind a little girl with long black hair. She was clutching a loaf of steaming bread, her hair streaming behind her as she ran. The boy slammed a fist into a passing stone wall, causing it to fall into the path of the guards who were following them. One of the merchants nearby flashed him a smile. He was almost home.
The boy sped up, passing his sister, spinning around and sliding to a stop. He crouched down and interlocked his fingers, watching Mari's little feet. He had placed himself just right, as he always did. Mari stepped onto his hands, not slowing down. He flung her up, watching as she flipped through the air for a moment, making sure that she would make it to the roof. He turned back and saw the guards preparing to earth-bend projectiles to hit or trip Mari.
"Monsters! She's just a little girl!" Ryuu shouted, hooking their attention back to him.

Ryuu suddenly woke up, feeling a loud thumping below him. It wasn't his dream, too real. He sat bold upright, his palms pressed to the dirt, listening. Yes, there they were! Footsteps! He slid his foot across the dirt, earth-bending it slightly so it smothered the dying flames. With the momentum from his kick he stood upright and pressed against a nearby tree. A little pebble would do. He slid his foot under a small pebble and kicked it lightly at Ren, hoping to wake him up without a sound.

Aiko felt thumps coming from the ground. She woke up with a start and climbed down from the tree. She saw the rude boy and she rolled her eyes. " Ping, wake up. " She murmered to the dog. Ping yawned and jumped up. He barked and went and decided to sniff everyone. She gave him a smile and turned to Meh-Ling. " Wake up. " She said gentily.

"Shut your stupid dog up!" Ryuu hissed, before turning back to the noise of the sound. Aha. They were coming from the north. A boulder shifted below the people's feet, and a rock came from the east of them. They instantly stopped and turned east. A shout sounded like a murmur to him, "Split up and check both ways! It could be a trick! We have to catch those E.B.A. brats!" At least the bratty girl was trying to be useful, and he rolled his eyes. She was supposed to be the unit leader for heaven's sake! Whatever. I won't let a younger brat order me around until she's earned my respect. That was how most his relationships went. He was quite old for the E.B.A., but that was only in perspective. Most of the new members were getting younger and younger, but there was a fair share of older members too.
