Ah, I can't say I know exactly how you feel, but I can say I know what it's like to do most of the chores and not get credt. =( My ma doesn't really pay attention to what I do sometimes unless it's something bad, and then she blames me cuz the others won't fess up.
4/25/10 So, I'm ticked off today, and a few minutes ago I blew up and expressed quite a few of my views to one of my friends. Now that it's in the open, I figured I might as well state them here.
Stephen Hawking Mr. Hawking expressed his opinion on aliens today. He stated that all aliens were either microbes, small animals, or conquerors. ... What? I spot several things wrong with this. How would he know this? We have never found any evidence of aliens, aside from some bacteria on the moon; since when did we discover any of these? Yeah, microbes and small animals make sense. Kay. But conquerors? Are you serious? I thought Mr. Hawking was smarter than this. TV shows are TV shows are TV shows are TV shows. Just because that is the case in TV shows does not make it reality -- alien lifeforms could just as easily be traveling scholars or seekers as they could be conquerors. And if they were conquerors and were that primal, how the heck could they have ever gotten the technology to travel trough space?
This is just an example of bringing attention to ones' self using their fame to entice the media, which leads me to...
The Media and Feeding the Egos of Famous People Kay. The media cares for the latest, coolest stuff. This is pretty much fact. You can observe it anywhere. But WHY? What does anyone have top gain from hearing the half-educated opinions of movie stars and other celebrities? Why do they count for more than the collective opinions of CITIZENS?
I'm sick of this. no one cares -- celebrities have their own lives. Let them live them. Take your attention away from them and over to the CITIZENS, the ones who SHOULD be listened to.
Yet, even then, there are people like...
Henry O. and Matt P. These are two kids at my school. They are atheists. I have no problem with that. they shove science in everyone's' face. I have a problem with that.
Science is important for explaining things, yes. But not everything needs an explanation, and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to be smacked upside the head. If everything gets an explanation, then life becomes stale, and purpose is gone. And to shove this in everyone's face, telling them to give up their beliefs, is WRONG. It needs to stop.
Furthermore, these are the people who feed the media's interest in shoving their noses into the lives of everyone else and treating one celebrity's opinion as more important than anyone else's. No; that is wrong. It needs to stop. The CITIZEN'S, not the celebrities, need to be heard. Which leads me to...
Health Care Reform The bill was passed. Okay. But why? Most people did not approve of it the way it was/is. Oh, but that doesn't matter -- Britain's universal health care kept Stephen Hawking alive, so that must mean it's perfect.
Yeeah, no. See, Hawking is a CELEBRITY -- of course he's going to be kept alive. He has made so many important discoveries and all, of course he's going to be helped before anyone else. That is immoral. Everyone is equal, and no one should be treated as more important than anyone else. If anyone had taken the time to get the opinions of the CITIZENS of England on health care, things might have been different -- because a lot of British people do not like it. Funny how that works.
Now, onto an unrelated issue:
Bitterness People talk about how people are bitter about slavery, the turnout of the Revolutionary War and the civil War as if it were a joke. It's not. People are still bitter over those things. They were inevitable, and people lost. Those people are STILL not happy. I can understand that.
But, in all honesty, they need to get over it. It does not benefit anyone, anywhere to be bitter over things that happened however long ago. Yes, they were bad; slavery was bad; but by constantly bringing it up and accusing me of being the cause of it, you're making me mad at you and insulting you, which makes you insult me and etc etc. It's an endless cycle. The longer you keep old wounds open, the longer it's gonna stay. People need to lets things go and forgive each other.
That's my two cents. Excuse me if I offended anyone, but I'm seriously TOed right now.
I know you probably might find this comment a bit odd, and you may find it strange for me to post here this time around, but I really agree on those veiws. Especially the movie star one. Plus, those poor guys are usually swamped with fan-girls that chase em all over the place sometimes. =\
Why shouldn't any one agree with you? Besides, most the time I have thoughts like those running through my head, even if I don't really talk about them. =\
I have no idea -- I just live in a town whose views are very different from mine (seriously -- the best way to describe me is sympathetic but apathetic and quite educated for my age. This town is full of people who are extremely rude yet vote for anyone who says that they'll help anyone.)
Essentially, it's me against a bunch of hippies. :P (Again, not trying to offend anyone.)
That's alright. It was almost like that where I used to live, although it was just the kids that went to school with me. THey singalled you out as their target if you weren't related to anyone there-aqnd I was the biggest one on their hit list. D: It was pretty annoying at first, but then they started hitting me with footballs and stuff saying it was on accident, and a bunch of other stuff happened so we moved out. If I said Blue, they said bloody red all over my nose.
>=O That's terrible! What is wrong with people these days? Seriously -- why the heck would you consciously want to treat someone so badly? I swear, some people need to be beaten over the head with a rubber mallet.
I would use my own words regarding this, but then I'd get in trouble, so...
