Hikari knew that the Poke Ball in her hand contained Cyndaquil, and that if she battled with him first, his fire attacks and Houndour's fire attacks would only do half the regular amount of damage to each other. She didn't care for technicalities like that. Tossing the Ball up in the air, a red beam burst forth and Cyndaquil appeared at the end of it. The little fire starter's fur stood on and and the flames on his back flared intensely. He let out a challenge call, standing tall and making himself look intimidating. "Cyndaaaaa!"
Hikari looked at the boy. He seemed to be very young, and the fact that he was trying to show that he wasn't weak told Hikari that he was probably inferior to a lot of the other Rockets. "Three on three enough to prove your strength, Grunt?"

ic: Kanrik looked at her with a glare. "My name's Kanrik got it?! Not GRUNT!" he angrilly retorted. All the other Rockets refered to him in the same way and he always lost his cool. "Houndor, use ember and follow it up with a sliding tackle!" he called. Houndor ran at Cyndaquil, becoming a ball of flame. His red eyes glinted as he ran around the pokemon, causing flames to form around it. He was a blurr of fire.

IC:
Hikari waved her hand in dismissal at Kanrik's retort. "Focus on the battle with a clear mind or you'll lose, Grunt. Cyndaquil, Smokescreen and then Quick Attack. Try to knock him off balance."
Obeying, Cyndaquil opened his mouth and breathed out a surprisingly black cloud of smoke. It spread around himself and Houndour, hindering their ability to see each other. Sensing the heat of the other Pokemon, Cyndaquil ran at the him with abnormal speed due to the effects of Quick Attack. He rammed into Houndour's back flank and knocked him out of his own circular motion, but not without getting a whisp of fire whipping itself against his own shoulder before he could get away.
The smoke began to clear away. This would be an interesting battle between the two fire types.

OOC:
Considering Hikari just got her Pokemon and all of them were from the organization, I'd consider them to be about LV10. If Cyndaquil's HP were ~32 at full health, it'd be down to ~29 by the end of this post. I think Houndour would be about the same, if not a tad less from the Quick Attack, no?

ic: Kanrik ignored her. "Houndor, use tackle!" hge called. Houndor quickly ran at her pokemon and slammed into it hard-now it was off gaurd. But Houndor's speed was off from the pain of that last hit from the firey enemy. "Houndor, use tackle!" Kanrik called. Houndro used another tackle again, with a bit more power.

Ooh, this looks like it'll turn out interesting. Cyndaquil's limited only to the first four moves that he can learn ingame- Tackle, Leer, Ember and Smokescreen- as well as Quick Attack which is learned ingame at LV13 but he already learned from the organization's basic Pokemon training. Not that your character would magically learn this.

However, Houndour's moves before LV10 are Leer, Ember, Howl and Smog. Yours also has Dig, but Houndour can't learn that normally. I just checked Houndour's learnable moves on Serebii and Houndour can't learn Dig. It's not possible through TM or breeding either. Might wanna fix that. ;)

That's okay. It is kinda odd how Houndour is a canine but he can't learn Dig no matter what. I would have made the same mistake too had I not checked their moves before I posted.

IC:
Hikari watched as Cyndaquil could do nothing but get hit by that first Tackle and slam into the dirt, but he seemed to be expecting the second one as he jumped up and latched onto Houndour's side instead of getting hit. "Great, Cyndaquil. Now give him a nice big Smokescreen!"
The small Fire Mouse Pokemon opened his mouth and inhaled as much air as he could. Holding it for a moment, he gathered all the smoke he could into that breath then let it all out slowly so it would cloud and become a think fog. He jumped off Houndour and soared through the air for a moment, then acted of his own accord. Cyndaquil drew his legs in toward his body and 'turned off' his fire as to increase impact. He came back down through the air and pounded right into Houndour's back with a cannonball-like Quick Attack.
Surprised by her Pokemon's intelligent ability to attack when it was most convenient, Hikari noted in her mind what Cyndaquil just did. Maybe they could combine that attack with another later on in their training. It might prove useful on the road ahead.

OOC:
Cyndaquil: ~20/32 HP sounds about right.
Houndour: ~15/32 HP sounds about right too.

ic: Kanrik gave a small frown. Houndor let out a low grunt as the smog vanished. "Houndor, use ember!" Kanrik called. Houndor kicked Cyndaquil into the air and shot several blasts of ember at him, hitting the target. "I'm not losing to her." he muttered. He heard foot steps behind him and turned to see another rocket Grunt-in fact, a high ranked one coming out and scowling. "Hey, get back to base GRUNT." he said. Kanrik lost it and something snapped. "HOUNDOR GET OVER HERE AND USE EMBER!" he said. His houndor raced away from the girl and tackled the Grunt to the ground, then used ember on him. THe Rocket ran off screaming like a banshee.

Btw Poliwag's Ability is Water Absorb. Should prove useful later in the RP.

Poliwag's moves are Water Sport, Bubble, Hypnosis, and Water Gun. About the same level as Cyndaquil.

IC:
Hikari sighed, feeling something for the Grunt that got an Ember to the face that she knew was pity. May as well end Houndour now since he was becoming annoying. Houndour and Cyndaquil were too evenly matched. Hikari had been holding Cyndaquil's Poke Ball in her hand the entire time, so while the Rocket Grunt was fuming, she held up the Ball and withdrew the small fire Pokemon.
"Alright, I'm switching. Poliwag, come out," she said, hooking Cyndaquil's Ball to her belt and pulling Poliwag's Ball off. She tossed the Ball into the air and the small water Pokemon burst forth.
"Let's start with a Water Sport, then a nice big Water Gun," Hikari ordered, seeing that the Poliwag was ready for this.
The Tadpole Pokemon was quick to respond with a Water Sport to reduce fire damage. With a resistance to fire due to his type added to the effects of this move, Houndour's Ember would do very little against Poliwag.
Having completed this part of what Hikari ordered, he jumped forth and called water from the inner workings of its body, forming a large pool of water within his mouth. Once he was ready, Poliwag let it loose in a spiral around Houndour that would make it hard to evade, closing in the spirals and increasing power as he went.
