Paintedleaf nodded to Jaggedpine and walked over to some warriors. Two windclan cats and a riverclan cat were mingling when one of the windclan cats turned to her. "Hey Paintedleaf! How you doing?" Paintedleaf nodded to the light brown and white tom and sat down. "Im fine thanks for asking Swiftpath." The riverclan cat tilted her head and looked around. "Why did Duskstar bring only warriors?" she questioned her slim light gray body tensing. "What is there a rule about bringing only warriiors to the gathering?" Paintedleaf spoke calmly and flicked her tail to the leaders. Wondering when they would start.

Mossflower sighed. "Do you think there'll be a fight?" she murmured. Glancing up at the sky, the moon was clear, although a few stray, wispy clouds floated near it. StarClan seemed quite happy tonight. Perhaps a fight wasn't to be taken place of tonight. Hopefully not. Her claws slid out and dug into the ground, getting a firm grip onto the earth. She didn't want innocent cats -- especially not ThunderClan's! -- to get hurt tonight.

Duskstar sat with the other leaders, beneath the great oak, as they discussed the order of who would speak. She shifted when Guststar turned to her, and the other leaders immediately noticed the usually closed-off Duskstar being nervous. "Is something wrong?" Pebblestar, of RiverClan, asked gently.
"StarClan has sent my warriors and I a prophecy, one that does not bode well for us. For any of us." She shook her head softly.
"A prophecy? Only to your Clan? How do we know this isn't a lie?"
"Because I spoke to Speedstar himself. StarClan does not lie about these things."
"Who said we claimed that StarClan was lying? We only said that you were lying," Pinestar, of ShadowClan, interrupted, his eyes darkening.
"You'll hear more in a moment," she replied haughtily, scrabbling up the oak until she sat on one of the higher of the four branches, overlooking the clearing. The other leaders beneath cast each other a suspicious glance - after all, she was a young, hot-blooded leader - before jumping up to join her.

Ebonycloud chose his spot next to Mossflower as Duskstar scrambled up the tree. "This is a lousy start," he mumbled. His dark tail wrapped around his long legs as he waited for his friend to speak.  He hadnt heard what the leaders were saying but the looks they gave his old friend didnt bode well for any of them. "Starclan may have been foolish to give the prophecy this way but its what weve got to work with so..." After his sentence trailed off he hushed himself. THe gathering was starting and Duskstar needed everyone's undivided attention.

ooc: ohmygosh i'm so sorrie D: xD lemme edit that.

Mossflower purred her agreement to Ebonycloud, not that surprised he chose to sit next to her. They've gotten quite closer the last few days, and before that, they were pretty good friends. She known the black cat all her life. He was a part of her. No matter what she did.
She turned her gaze towards the leaders. They were getting ready to start and Duskstar looked impatient. Did the leaders already give her a hard time?

Duskstar yowled the clearing into silence, before beginning, ignorant of the other leaders' petty information of hunting and apprenticeships. She sat on her branch, balancing easily, ignoring the other cats' annoyed glances in her direction.
"StarClan has sent me and my warriors a dream, a prophecy foretelling doom!" she yowled, and that effectively silenced every murmuring feline within the island. "They told me this, "When the code is not respected,
And those who break it say it is right,
The judgement day will come,
And punishment will rule the forest,
Disaster after another,
They say that this is lie,
But in the end, the strongest two clans shall survive." As she uttered the last phrase, that last line, furious yowls broke out among the clans. She - with her stronger hearing - heard many of the sentiments, most along the lines of, 'Who do you think you are to tell us that we're going to die?' and 'Why were you the only Clan to get such a dream?' as well as, 'And do you think that because StarClan told you this, that you are going to be of the two surviving clans?' Cats turned on friends, friends turned on enemies, and most of all, they turned on Duskstar. She sat indifferently, gazing past the yowling cats, waiting for the noise to die down so that perhaps she could go home and be done with this doomed Gathering.

Ebonycloud threw his head back and get out loud yowl, silencing many of the loud arguments but still a few quieter voices continued. "Will you let her speak! She came her to give the warning in order to give you ignorant fools a chance to hear the truth! Let her speak!" eyes turned coldly and harshly to the dark warrior.
"It figures he would stand up for her..." came a snide remark. It was followed up by, "He's been mooning over her since they were kits." Ebonycloud flinched back in suprise. He bristled at the surounding cats but said nothing more. He sat down as things began to quiet down.

Mossflower tensed. She knew that the clans would act like that. It just wasn't fair, not fair at all. After all, ThunderClan never said that they thought they would be the last survivor. They were simply spreading the word. To warn the other clans.
"What foxdungs," she muttered under her breath, scraping the dirt off the earth. "Those stupid, mouse brained idiots!"

Duskstar took a deep breath, nodding a silent thanks to Ebonycloud and almost sneering at the other cats. "If I wanted my clan alone to survive, I would have told none of you of this prophecy and seen what happens. I would rather talk it out with you and see if perhaps this needless bloodshed could be avoided, but apparently you all feel too unreasonable for that to work." She sighed softly, shrugging her shoulders. Put that way, the other cats instantly felt as if they were the ones at fault, and they all knew that this was Duskstar's way with words, to twist them and use them to her own advantage. "If you are all quite done yowling, or even if you aren't, I suppose that not much else will get done this Gathering. My Clan and I shall be taking our leave." With that last phrase, she leaped from the Great Oak, watching as cats scattered to get out of her way, hissing at her as she padded past with her head held high. Flicking her tail to call her Clan to her, she headed out for the fallen tree.

Ebonycloud tossed a quick glance toward Mossflower before he nodded toward her. He motioned for her to follow Duskstar. The two fell instep behind their leader as the headed for the edge of the island. Ebonycloud held his head high as he passed in front of the other clans and strode forward without a hitch in his step. Duskstar had done her duty and he had done his by sticking with her through thick and thin.
