Dempsey looked at Cali and tilted his head wondering why she asked about his parents all of a sudden. "Yea. I guess. Why you ask?" Dempsey's parents had left the pack awhile ago because his father didn't like Roan either and when he became Alfa his father left with his mother. Dempsey had stayed to try and work it out and see if he could take orders form Roan but he had more of his father in him then anything.

"I've just been thinking about Her alot to day and I was wondering if you missed your parents sometimes." she said shrugging. Cali felt like such a failure in her mom's eyes she couldn't even say her name anymore or call her mom. She didn't feel like she would want her to so she didn't. The blonde turned her head and looked at Dempsey with a sleepy expression as usual.

Dempsey nodded and layed down. "Yea. Sometimes I wonder where they are right now, and if there still alive and..." He trailed off and shook his head not wanting to think about what could happen to them. "Well she is your mother and your going to think about her sometimes." He changed the subject of his parents and started referring to Cali's mother of course. Putting his head on his paws he looked at the blonde wolf and waited for her to say something.

"She was lovely and beautiful and now she's dead. I let her down and took her forgranted and now I can't fix it." Cali told him with no emotion in her voice. She got like that when she talked about Azura, her mother. She felt bad about letting ehr down but there was no way for Cali to win.

Dempsey watched Cali and felt bad for her. Getting up he walked over to her and put his tail on her shoulder comfortly. "You didn't let her down. Your a beautiful wolf with alot of potiental and you can do anything. Although you may not be able to make your mothers wishes come true you can come close to them." He looked at Cali and frowned. "You know she loves you know matter how far you guys are." The gray and brown wolf stroked the blonde wolf's shoulder and watched her.

Cali refused to believe what he was saying no matter how true it was. "Wow, are you like turning into a girl?" she said reverting back to her immature self. It was safer if you just drifted through life with no attatchments and that's all she's done her whole life. The wolf shrugged off his tail and tried smiling at him. "How bout we get you something to eat since you didn't really eat this morning."she said chaning the subject.

Dempsey rolled his eyes and nodded to the prey thing. "Alright. Im alittle hungry anyways." he stood up and shook his pelt before turning to Cali. "You know that was a rare sincere moment we had were I actually was serious." he smiled and flicked her ear with his tail. "And that's the last you'll get in awhile so treasure it always." The wolf laughed and walked to the den entrance the roar in the forest alittle louder.

"It's not like you ment all that beautiful and lots of potential crap anyways." she said laughing. "I mean you're not even allowed to think that. We're bestfriends and it just doesn't work like that." Cali walked towards the fresh kill pile and waited for Dempsey to make his choice. For once she wasn't hungry and she didn't know why.

Dempsey walked over to Cali and looked at the fresh kill pile. "I wasn't saying that in a flirty way, but more of a best friend way." He looked at Cali and swished his tail back and forth. Wondering why he said beautiful in the first place. It actually did sound like he was almost flirting with her although Cali was a pretty wolf. He shook his head when he started to think about how pretty he though she was and looked back down at the fresh kill pile. "Are you going to get anything?" He asked before picking up a raccoon in his jaws and looking back at her.
