Piper bit her tongue angrily. "Well I might not be the only one. With a bruise like this and a few hints people might assume you'd assulted me." She hissed, her eyes sly. She lacked brains to know this plan wouldn't work due to revealing her plan.

"That wasn't a-" she stopped as a lady appeared in the room. She was tall and slender and put Anna Claire to shame. Slightly intimidate Anna Claire leaned back a little more and waited for her to say something.
Looking at the clip board the doctor said "I am Dr. Cross and I'll be your doctor from now until the baby is born. I understand that this must be very scary for the both of you but I'll be there for you every step of the way. What name would you perfer to go by?"
"Anna Claire is what everybody calls me," The teen said as Dr. Cross started taking her blood pressure. After her blood pressure she went on to check her lungs, heart, and blood. Then she had to get up and walk over to a scale, getting on it the lady frowned and then looked at her. "Your BMI is low for your height but you seem to be very healthy. Because you are so small you will have to gain more weight during your pregnancy, but you will go back to about this weight soon after."

Chris looked at the docter and watched everything she did and what she had Anna Claire do. He heard her say Anna Claire's BMI was low and wondered if it was going to hurt her or the baby in anyway but he stayed quiet. He didnt know what to say or ask and left everything up to Anna Claire.

"It won't effect the baby will it?" she asked looking at her weight which was just under 90.
"The only way your BMI will effect the baby is if you try and keep your weight low. You need to eat everytime you're hungry and not try and diet or something silly like that." Dr. Cross told her and then directed her to lay back down so she could check her pelvic bones and make sure they were wide enough for a baby. When all the inspection were done she turned to Anna Claire and Chris "How about we check on our little tadpole?" she said moving a monitor over to them.

Anna Claire looked up at Chris and then said "Do you have any questions to ask? I probably forgot to ask soemthing but please ask something if you want to know."

Chris watched again in silence and when Anna Claire asked him if he had any questions he shook his head. "No..." The check up helped his nervousness alittle again but he still felt weird about the whole thing and didnt know anything.

"Alrighty, could you pull up your shirt just enough to expose your stomache?" Dr. Cross asked as she turned on the monitor and put gloves on. She put a big glob of gell on her hand and after Anna pulled up her shirt she said "This is going to be cold at first but you"ll get used to it after a few seconds." When she said this Anna Claire took Chris' hand and then the gell was put on her stomache and she squeezed his hand slightly. Turning off the lights and turning the monitor on she put something to her stomache and an image was projected on the screen. "Honey, you're having...twins." she told Anna Claire and then looked at Chris.

Chris held Anna Claire's hand and watched the monitor. At the doctor's words he squeezed Anna Claire's hands instead and lifted an eyebrow. "W-what? Twins? No way that can't be right." He let go of her hand and put his on his head. He looked at the monitor and saw two small figures and felt his heart race faster. "Are you sure?"

"I'm positive. They are fraternal instead of identical which means nine out of ten times you will have a boy and a girl. Congradulation on your babies. Nothing appears to be out of the ordinary but you will have to come back in two weeks and get another one. Then you'll be able to see them better and it will be easier to see the baby like shape to them. Alrighty, I'm going to clean up your stomache and give you your copy of my notes. After that, you will go to the window and either pay for your visit or put it on a tab." Dr. Cross said and looked up at Anna Claire who was staring at the twins not crying or fussing just watching the monitor.

"When am I going to start gaining weight? You said I would have to gain a lot of weight for one baby but what about the twins?" she asked calmly.

"Oh you will probably have to gain about seventy pouds total but you should start gaining anywhere from now to your next visit." Dr. Cross said cleaning her up and turning the lights back on. She threw away her gloves and everything then gave Anna Claire her papers and directed them towards the window.

Chris stayed silent again as he looked to the monitor one more time then looked to the ground. He had only pictured being a father of one baby but now there was going to be two! Could he handle that kind of responsiblity? He began feeling alittle hot now and sat down on a chair waiting for Anna Claire to get up.

Anna Claire thanked Dr. Cross and then walked over to where Chris was sitting. She put her hand on his shoulder and smiled at him. "It's going to be okay, Chris. We can do this I promise and you are going to make a wonderful daddy in about nine months. If you want to stay here until I pay for the visit you can and I'll come back and get you." she said gently. He was taking it worse than her and she felt bad for him.
