Shooting him a look, Valerie raised an eyebrow, looking away in thought. "That's probably not a bad idea. I need some more clothes other than ones intended for combat... You know, I've never worn a skirt before!" she cheered slightly with a smile. With a small laugh, she shrugged. "I'll find something to trade for it, maybe. Anyways, I'm not a picky eater. I'm pretty easy-going... So I'm just gonna grab some bread and vegetables and a little meat - what kind of vegetable is this? Oh well, I'll eat it and hope I'm not allergic - and cook it up back in my apartment... You have an apartment, right?" asked Valerie, while picking up the food as they walked by, hoping Ghost Town was picking up his own food. Elbowing him in the shoulder, she added quickly, "And stop being such a baby. You can take bullets you can take a hit. It's not like I'm pushing you into a wall, which I should have done earlier..." She grumbled the last part as she looked to the side.

William laughed at her last statement before thinking about her first. He had never really thought about what sorts of clothing she wore before, let alone a skirt. He quickly changed the subject in his mind back to what was at hand. He picked up a few things for himself before turning to her, "Apartment? Well since I took off I didn't really get the grand tour. Gloria did say something about them though. She didn't mention that I got one of my own." He tilted his head slightly, "That'd be interesting. An apartment of my own. Never really had one before." He grinned slightly and turned back to her, "I guess everything's a little new for us now."

"Aah. I suppose if you don't have one, you could room with Shep?" offered Valerie, adjusting the items in her arms so it was more comfortable. Listening to him, she nodded slowly at his comment. "It's really funny, yeah? I used to dream about leaving a lot and living like this, and now that I am, it just feels so strange - nothing like in my dream." With a short laugh, she examined her surroundings. It all felt so alien to her, but also nice. It was close-quarters but everyone knew everyone else. A content sigh slipped from her lips as she thought about how nice it was to not be in a plane for twenty four hours a day.

William shrugged at her suggestion, "I suppose it Shepard doesn't mind." Personally he didn't really want to sleep in the same room as that little twerp. Even if he was one of the three remaining in their group William still hadn't quite thought of him as anything more than a little brother. That didn't mean that he wouldn't risk his life to save the Lieutenant, but it didn't help his perspective. William turned to listen to Dex better, "You used to dream of places like this?" He turned to look at the large cavernous space. "I'd have thought of you living in a place like a beach or something," he snickered. William really hadn't seen a beach properly, and seeing one from the Panthera's windows didn't count.

"Aah. A beach would be nice, but even if it was a dream, it was realistic. What was the chance of me walking away and living on a beach with a bunch of crazy people inhabiting the world?" snorted Valerie, shifting the items in her arms as they neared the apartment complex. Standing in front of an apartment that Gloria had pointed to as it being vacant, she raised her leg and jimmied the door open with her foot. Kicking it the rest of the way open, she quickly strolled into the kitchen section, placing everything on the counter. "Well, make yourself at home until someone else shows up. Honestly, I don't know where anyone else went..."

Daniel nodded, then looked over to see Dex and Ghost-Town draw near the apartment complex. "Dex! Ghos-" He stopped mid sentence as he was about to adress Ghost-Town, then just stopped and frowned at him. Even if he trusted all of them, he still didn't like Ghost-Town. Daniel was always out-smarted by him when in arguement or banter. Soemhow Ghost-Town new exactly what to say to make Daniel look like a fool. He flicked a resentful wave to Ghost-Town. "Hey." He said grudgingly, then turned his attention back to Emili, then to Dex. "So how long are we going to stay here?" He asked.

William had been in a good mood, that was until Shepard starting coping a 'tude. He sent the slightly younger man a dark frown before turning to enter Dex's apartment. He looked around to see it wasn't exactly decorated stylishly. Then again, when did the people who lived in Antarctica have time to decorate houses, let alone ones they didn't live in. He turned to see a plain couch set against a wall opposite a log fireplace. There were no holo interfaces here, they didn't have the kind of power required to ran so many under ground. It was a curious thing not to see as much technology as he had been used to on the Panthera.
At the sound of Shepard's question, William turned and lifted a brow at Dex, "Yes oh fearless leader of ours. How long do we plan on staying? You were the first to step forward so take the lead." He grinned slightly, his eyes light with good humor.

Emili had gone in to the apartment opposite of Dex. It was a mirror image of the one that the rest of the Patriots had gone in to. Her synthetic eyes scanned the room, numbers and information crossing her gaze as she registered what everything was. She felt the circuits in her body that served as her heart pulse with shock, much like her heart skipping a beat. There was no place here to exit this body. There was no way to recharge the power core within this fleshy host. Fear entered the AI's mind at the thought of her body powering down with her inside, trapped. At least in the Panthera she could fly. Here if her body when down she was gone. Frowning she went to the bedroom in the back of the apartment and sat on the bed. She did no feel tired since her body could no fatigue. Her frame slumped and a frown pressed on her human lips. "Might as well..." she murmured before announcing, "Going in to stand-by phase. Powering down." After a moment the words 'Stand-by' appeared across her vision before things dimmed and her eyes closed.

Sobering silently, Valerie looked to them all. "I'm not sure. I guess that's up to you as a person, not as a team. As much as we are a team, we are individuals. I'm going to stay her as long as is necessary - maybe even until the day I die." Shrugging, she turned on the stove top and put a pan on the spot where a small blue fire began to flicker. Washing her hands in the kitchen sink, she shook them dry as she waited for the pan to heat up. Noticing no body speaking, she placed the meat on the now heated pan, a sizzling sound entering the silence. "We're all adults. Honestly, I don't have any control over what you people do. We're all individuals and we all speak for ourselves and live for ourselves, no matter if we hide it behind good intentions or not. We can all be friends, but eventually our paths are going to part, you know? It's kind of a sad thought, but that's how life is. Maybe one day we'll get married and have kids and live a long life. I don't know. But... never mind. I'm getting ahead of myself, aren't I?" With a small laugh, Valerie sifted through the drawers and cabinets, finally finding a fork and plate. Flipping over the meat - lamb, she realized - she listened to it sizzle as she prepped the vegetables and sliced some bread. Looking at Ghost Town, she shrugged. "In a nutshell... it's up to you." Turning back around to focus on her food, she let one last fleeting thought pass through her mind. How long you stay is how long I will be. She didn't really understand it, but tucked it away in her mind for safe-keeping anyways.

William frowned at her comment. The mood had been light and easy until she had said her opinion. He looked away, his brown eyes darkening for a moment. It was up to him how long he stayed. Her mentioning of their paths eventually leading away from each other disturbed him. The man sat on the couch he had been looking at and put his elbows on his knees. He folded his hands together and leaned his chin on top of them. His darkened eyes stared intently ahead. Where did his lead? Was it to stay here with the dwellers of Outcast? Was it to lead the Patriot Squad in to one last hurrah against a corrupted Splinter Cell and save the world? Was it to give up now and just go in to exile?
He didn't know. He knew that he had made a commitment to help the Outcasts in their next mission. He knew that he had a special connection with Dex and Shepard, a sharing of similar histories. But where did his future lie? Without realizing it, William fingered at the dog tags around his neck. His thumb traced over the two words that summed up his whole life, it was his history, his honor, it was him. Ghost Town. That was who he was. But the key word is 'was'. Who was he now? Was he William Cassidy, agent of NAGA? Was his Commander Ghost Town, leader of the Patriots? Or was he Will, the young man who found a lonely girl underground and comforted her without judgement?
The man scratched at the stubble on his chin. He didn't realize that he had slipped in to a deep state of thought and that the room had grown rather quiet. Well, except for Dex cooking her meal. His mind continued to gravitate back toward that little girl named Mary. Her innocent face, her eyes so full of hope. Would he stay here to help honor the memory of her parents? As honorable as a goal as that was, was it his path? All these thoughts on seemed to perplex the man more and more. Secretly he wanted his life to be simple. He wanted to have been born here in Antarctica, knowing not just being told so that Gloria was his mother and that she had raised him. He wished he could have just tilled the land with farming tools, not just ravaged the bodies of enemies with bullets. Those thoughts were fleeting though. He was no farmer, nor did he really wish to be. He was a warrior, a killer, a hunter of men. He would take his place along side all those who would fight again Henry and NAGA.
A fire lit in the man's eyes and from the quiet that had over taken the room he spoke in defiance, "I will stay here. So long as Henry or any other threatens this world. I will fight until I die to make sure that nothing like this ever happens again." He almost startled himself at the announcement, but he meant every word.

Making her plate, Valerie nodded at the right moments or hummed in agreement. At his final statement, she pursed her lips, not knowing what to say. "Aah," she replied solemnly, instead opting to eat her meal and shove everything else in the fridge. She was here to help, but she didn't have anything to fight for but closure at this point. The only reason she stayed was because of the fact she wanted answers and the only people she had come close to loving were here. Quickly finishing, she set the plate in the sink. When she had been growing, she had no one close - she had instead opted to separate herself from the softer emotions and become a killing machine. Stuffing her hands into her pockets, she leaned one hip against the counter, staring at the cupboards. She didn't have anything else to say. "I'm here until Henry and NAGA are gone. Then, I will leave," she murmured quietly, eyes closed. "There is no other reason for me to stay."
